Horrifically violent, but well acted & dramatic: Body of Lies

squeamish about violence, a Russell Crowe fan, a frequent film-goer

Body of Lies will have you covering your eyes
Take a tough friend if you have trouble with violence; you may need to leave the theater during some of this film's torture scenes. But if you can stomach them, or get your buddy to tell you what happened, this is a great film. The standard line that DiCaprio and his sidekick say to each other as they head toward life-threatening danger says it all (No spoilers here!)

Leonardo DiCaprio is Roger Ferris, an idealistic Middle East specialist for the CIA.

Hani (Mark Strong) heads up Jordanian security and works with Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) to find Al-Saleem.

Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe) heads up the operation in the States and often works at cross purposes to Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Aisha (Golshifteh Farahani) is a nurse who treats Ferris for dog bites.

Garland (Simon McBurney) is one of those Hollywood creations: A mysterious geek who can make computers do anything, instantly. Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) tells Garland what he needs.
