I absolutely adore all food scented bath and body products and The Body Shop has all sorts of them. When I was shopping at their store one day I came across their Banana Shampoo. I was a bit hesitant at first, thinking that a banana scented shampoo could be a bit nasty but thankfully I opened the sample bottle and took a sniff. Then I grabbed a bottle for myself and rushed to the checkout! I could not wait to get home and use it! The shampoo smells just like bananas. Actually, more like a banana baby food. Either way it's a light banana scent and in no way overwhelming. It also does not seem to linger on your hair after you use it, which was sort of a bummer to discover. As a shampoo it works very well, even on my thick hair. It is great for all hair types and cleans oily and sweaty hair wonderfully without drying. I definitely recommend this awesome shampoo, especially when used with The Body Shop's other banana products!

Body Shop Banana Shampoo is an original shampoo of The Body Shop. For years it was a staple in our home until the shampoo was discontinued. There was such a consumer demand to bring it back that The Body Shop has done just that. The one thing that makes The Body Shop shampoo a cut above the rest is the company's commitment to the environment. They are one of the first companies to use bottles made of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. They do test on animals and they use only pure, natural ingredients. We have actually gone out of our way to find this shampoo on several occasions. In our opinion, it is worth the effort, especially if you have long, thick hair. It's that good. Effectiveness This shampoo is extremely gentle. My daughter has massive amounts of hair. This is one of the few products that will cleanse her hair without drying it out. The companion conditioner is a fabulous partner for the shampoo and in concert leaves her hair shiny and feeling luxurious. Scent Body Shop Banana Shampoo is sometimes criticized because it does not have a banana scent even though it is made with free trade banana puree. I don't know how they manage to erase the smell but somehow they do it. In my opinion, that is a good thing if you don't want to smell like a fruit salad!
