Microphone for a budget.

This mic is a starter microphone for anyone looking to get into music or even youtube videos. The microphone has 3 settings and each settings does something different. For price this microphone is awesome. The only downside to this microphone is that you have to be very close to it for it to put up your voice. So overall this microphone has great quality and is perfect for people that are just starting out.

Glad I got this microphone!

I wanted a much higher quality microphone and I saw a lot of Youtubers recommending this microphone to everyone. This microphone is basically in the enthusiastic section because well it's not that high end but now low end either. It's a great starter microphone for anybody including singers, musicians, and for just recording your voice. The quality sounds rich and nice and has three difference modes for what you are recording. The only thing I disliked was that the cable kinda looks ugly and could've been more longer. I also would recommend to get a pop filter generally because every good microphone needs it!

Awesome, easy usb mic to record music, podcasts, and the like!

I love this product so much!!! It makes my recordings sound so much better; I've used the mic with Garageband on a Macbook and then the free recording program Audacity on my Windows laptop. So easy and a great quality sound for the price. I got this as a birthday gift; I had seen this at the store the same day and it was about $69 at Guitar Center I believe. As soon as you plug it into a USB port the red light comes on and you are ready to record. I love this mic, plus it can be an interesting conversation starter :b When I'm on Skype people always ask me, "What is that thing?!"

Rigid design and easy to use!

Just got this mic yesterday and i already love it. I used it with Garage Band on my mac and plugged it in and began using it right away. This is my first USB mic which I am using for recording amplified instruments, so with the three settings on the mic I used setting two and my steel guitar sounded great! I also love that there is some weight to it. It seems like a very sturdy product and its beautiful to look at. I havent tried it with a normal mic stand yet but the manual says that the snowball fits any stand with standard threads. My only complaint would be that the cord is a little short but its still 6ft long or so, so i can just set my laptop wherever I need it. Again, this is my first USB mic but i am pleased with it and I read several reviews and watched Youtube videos of people who had used lots of types (many were more expensive) and they still liked this mic. And of course the price cant be beat at 65$ and I got it from BuyDig on ebay. I would recommend the mic for sure.

No ordinary snowball - a pro mic that puts most to shame

The promise of the Blue Microphones Snowball microphone is to provide even the novice podcaster or computer user a quality device to record both voice and music. In this regard, the Snowball performs better than most. And given it's sub-$100 price, is a solid "go to" product in this niche. **Features:** - Uniquely designed plug-and-play USB mic connects to either a Mac or PC - Dual capsule design and unique three-pattern switch which allows the handling of everything from soft vocals to a loud band - Switchable mic patterns for a variety of recording applications, including podcasts - Swivel mount located on the bottom center of the mic body - Works without the addition of extra software or drivers. **Pros:** - Provides solid sound and build quality - Decent tripod included **Cons:** - Mid-range seems a little boosted **Conclusion:**If you are in the market for a device that can help your voice or vocals pop without investing in the more pricy Blue Yeti or high end devices, the Snowball fits the bill admirably.

Totally satisfied with the snowball

I got this on a promotion deal from Amazon. I already had a recording microphone by Shure and everything else set up but could not let this little fun looking microphone to play with get away. I mean its always good to have more microphones, right? Sound quality via USB, I was very surprised. I never believed in direct input to PC for recording and this changed my perspectives. Sound quality is amazing all round for this money, this is probably the best easy to use microphone ever. It looks very nice next to my white vaio. If you are into how things look around ur room and stuff and ALSO care for a sound quality when you podcast or casual recording, this will not dissappoint. I don't do any videos so can't show anything but if you just search up blue snowball on youtube, you will see how amazing this really is.

Blue Snowball USB Microphone: Perfect Recordings Everytime

While I use a cheap Zalman clip-on mic for most of my purposes, the quality left something to be desired. When I saw the Snowball USB Microphone go on sale recently (under $40) I decided to buy one and try it out. Something about it caught my eye - the shape of it in particular. After plugging it in (which was recognized immediately in Windows 7 64-bit) I did a few test recording and WOW, the difference in the sound quality over my Zalman clip-on is like night and day. No soft spots, no loud spots - my voice was recorded near perfectly. The blue snowball mic features several settings (called pattern modes) which allows for recording music, podcasts, Skype conversations, live chat and more. Pattern modes include Cardiod (podcasts, vocals and other voice work), Cardiod mode with -10dB PAD (same as Cardioid but with higher fidelity) and Omnidirectional mode (picks up sounds from all directions). Finally, the adjustable tripod (included) made placement of the Mic easy even on my cramped desk (I use two 24" monitors).

The best affordable microphone

I bought a Blue Snowmall microphone to use for recording YouTube videos and the occasional video chat and was blown away by the increase in quality over my webcam's built in microphone. It was extremely easy to set up and install: simply attach the base to the microphone and plug in the included USB cable. Drivers installed automatically in Windows 7 (64-bit), and then it could immediately be used as a recording device. It is hard to recommend any other microphone in this price range (<$75) and even more difficult to find ones that have a comparable ease of use. There is also a switch on the back that lets you choose between a cardioid pick up pattern, cardioid -10 dB (for recording loud noises), and omnidirectional.

Blue Snowball is a beauty inside and out

This little thing produces wonderful and crisp sound quality and it works as simply plugging it in via usb. I have the blue snowball as well as the Rode nt1a and although the rode is far more suprior, i still can't help but use my blue snowball more often. I take it with me whenever i go to a friend's house for a jam session. It picks up so much warmth and detail, i cant even describe how satisfied i've been and i've had this for 2 years.  Now that the Blue Yeti has been release, the price for the blue snowball has dropped fittingly. I still think it's a great buy though. The yeti is pretty top of the line as well but we'll save that for another review.  It's great for vocals, its great for guitar, and its study enough to take some drops as well. I love this little guy and i really think that anyone who purchases it will be satisfied as well.  I would recommend buying possibly a 10 feet usb a-to-b connector though because the 6 feet cable it comes with, is sometimes too short  when you're sharing the mic away from the computer.
