Late last year, we noticed that our dog - a retriever/spitz mix - was having problems with itching and a wiry coat. Worse, he stopped eating but every other day.  He was starting to develop sores due to his constant scratching and "boredom licking" due to the state of his coat and skin.

My wife researched various foods on the internet, and came across an ad for Blue Buffalo on one of the sites she was visiting. She went to their site and was impressed with what she read; so, she ordered the sample.

When we got the sample, we gave it to our dogs that very night. Boomer, the one described above, the one who wouldn't eat but every other night (and then only because he needed sustinence of some sort), actually begged for seconds!!!

Within a couple of weeks, we noticed that Boomer had quit scratching and licking so much, that his coat had started becoming soft again, and that both he and his "brother" had started showing a lot more energy and vitality. Instead of laying around all day as they usually do, they started playing and running without any sort of prompting.

From the very moment we started feeding Blue Buffalo, we have noticed immediate improvement in our dogs' health and vitality! I have even encouraged my parents to try it with their dogs; and one of their dogs with arthritis has started moving around more and more easily, while the other has quit itching as much! I was so impressed with the product that I even applied to be a company representative to pet stores for them!

Based on our experience and the ones that my parents have had since I recommended it to them, I would certainly recommend it. It's only slightly more expensive than other, "regular" foods; so, you may even save a little over the Science Diet. In our area, the only place we have found it was at PetsMart; there's a locater on their website - www.bluebuff.com - that you can use to find someone who sells it in your area. You can even get a free sample from the website and have the sample shipped to you - ours came with a coupon for our first purchase, too!

Can't hurt to try it, I had a dog that had food allergies and switched and he improved. No more skin infections. Some of the so called "good dog food "are full of cheap fillers, glutens, wheat and corn alot of dogs are allergic to them.Maybe this is your dogs problem or maybe be allergic to other allergies other than dog food,Either way he would benefit from the switch, try the sweet potatoe and fish. Blue doesn't have all the cheap fillers Kim

We use this dog food as well and have been happy with it, but my dogs have not had the problems described. We started using it after the pet food recall last year. We'd not used any of the recalled foods, but at the time we had a 12 1/2 year old lab, and I wasn't going to take any chances. His health was declining, and his immune system just couldn't take any possible problems. So we switched to Blue, and we are still using it. Here is the website: http://www.bluebuff.com/. You can also order a free sample there. I don't know where all it can be purchased, but we buy it at Petsmart.

I have a 9+ year old tiny Boston Terrier, and she's had problems all of her life with itchy skin, and constantly licking her paws. I've tried soooo many things...from changing her diet to shampoos & lotions...but to this day, nothing that has made a significant impact. I'm not fixing the problem, only passifying it. I've been feeding her Science Diet (as recommended by my vet) about 3 years...would you recommend the Blue Buffalo food for her? We live in Michigan (in the Thumb area). I've never heard of this type of dog food, and wouldn't have a clue where I could find it. Where do you buy it at?

Thanks for your time,
