Bloomex - Canada, Canada Review

On April 25th I ordered a gift basket from BLOOMEX to be delivered to cousins whose mom had just passed away.  I asked the agent where they were located in Ontario and she assured me it was in Beamsville where the basket was to be delivered.  I realized I was too late for same day delivery but was guaranteed the gift would be delivered on Monday the 27th of April.  I received emails confirming my order etc.  Monday around noon I received an email stating the status of the order had changed and would not be delivered until Tuesday.  Totally unacceptable.  I called customer service several times and could only speak to a plastic box but eventually I did leave a message requesting they phone me back, as they said they would do.  No call came.  I finally emailed back and said we might have to consider cancelling the order and ordering elsewhere and would they please advise as to what was happening.  Still no response until later in the afternoon another email which led me to think they had cancelled the order. I proceeded to contact another company and the agent was wonderful.  She guaranteed delivery on Tuesday afternoon (the funeral service was in the morning)  Tuesday evening I had an email from another relative who had been at the family home following the service and she told me about the laugh everyone had when our basket arrived.  It was from BLOOMEX!  It came in a crushed box that was taped together.  When opened it appeared that someone had eaten the grapes but upon further scrutiny found the grapes loose in the bottom of the box and everything else was in bad shape.  She said it was so awful they couldn't help but laugh.  While they were laughing the doorbell rang and there was another delivery from Canada Flowers and it was absolutely beautiful.  They didn't realize at first it was from 2 different outfits so thought the 2nd one was a replacement basket because of the condition of the first one.  It wasn't  I had to do a bit of research to finally find out that my account was credited from the original order (albeit not quite the amount I was charged).  I will never order frm BLOOMEX again.
