I love action movies, but this one was very bloody . When it comes to children my heart hurts when I see them involved in a horror like this.  I will never look at a diamond the same way.  I think I would prefer other stones to diamonds from now on.  I like to be entertained by a movie this one turned... review »

The Case

I'd been hearing nothing but good things about Blood Diamond, and I finally got around to renting it.  Phew.  This film was unbelievably intense, and I couldn't peel my eyes from the screen.  It's easily one of the best movies I've seen this year.

The Good

I'm not sure where to start.  I guess the thing that stands out the most is just the utter scope of the story.  It's gripping, and engaging, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.  With a beautiful - but horrifically conflicted - Africa as the backdrop, Blood Diamond hits you hard...

I enjoy many movies, but very few movies leave me speechless..this one did! The performances were amazing, the plotline was sooo gripping, and the storyline was powerful! Although the movie is enterraining, it also brings attention to the history of the Sierra Leon region. Truly a must-see movie!

An Incredible Story That Will Have You Hooked!

I came across this movie at the rental store and even though I had never heard of it, thought it would be worth a look. It was incredible! Had me hooked from the very beginning to the very end! I loved the twist and turns, the edge of your seat action, and the unexpected. To learn that it was based on a true story and actual events only made the movie even more incredible! I would definitely recommend the movie to anyone and everyone...you'll come away with a different perspective on several things.

This movie is truly touching. Without giving away the whole story, it is about diamonds that come from Africa and a distributed to Europe and US and sold for  a lot of money. But the Africans really don't get anything for it. Horrible what really happens over there (This is actually going on with a lot of people not knowing or looking the other way, but still spending money on all those diamonds) The actors did a wonderful and believable job. A++++ for their performance. This is a MUST SEE MOVIE!!!!

Blood Diamond was one of those movies that left you saying "WOW" when you are done watching it.  I havent seen a REALLY good movie in a while so that was a treat!  You are on the edge of your seat the entire movie just anticipating what happens next!  Action packed with a great story!

this movie was very well done, but it does make you look at the diamond business as somthing that is corrupt. but the movie is very powerful and the acting is very good. the action scenes are intense and the ending isnt what i expected at first but i was very content with how it ended.

This movie was so sad it had you on your toes through every gripping moment. The plot was so good it almost sucks you in despite the horrible things you are watching. The movie is based on a real life story about child soldiers in Africa and there are still 200,000 to this day. :(
