My cats love to use the scratcher part--it's their favorite scratching post--and they love to play with the ball.  We have a polydactyl that is an expert and can have the ball going round and round with no break in pace.  Then, of course, you have the cat that starts the ball, then have to turn around to stop it because it doesn't quite grasp the concept.  Either way, they have fun and they are fun to watch!
