Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment Review

I found Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment at my local drugstore for $2.79 and I have not needed to try another product since. I love, love, love this lip ointment! Did I mention that I loved this lip ointment?

The Lip Ointment

Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment comes in a .21 oz tube with a screw off cap. When the cap is unscrewed, a slanted lip ointment applicator is revealed which makes application neat and easy.

The ointment is white, has a light consistency, and is not sticky. There is a strong medicine scent and taste to the ointment but I think it is a small price to pay for such an effective product.

My Experience

When I apply Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment, it goes on neatly because of the slanted applicator. The ointment is white but when applied to my lips, becomes clear with just a touch of shine. I immediately feel a tingling sensation that lets me know that it is working. The sensation only lasts for about two minutes and can sometimes make its way to your tongue so be careful not to lick your lips right away. The taste is definitely that of medication and not like those flavored lip balms, so beware!

Once applied to my lips, this ointment makes my lips feel soft and painless. One night, I literally searched for my Blistex for a half an hour because I refused to go to bed without putting it on. My husband thought I was crazy because I refused the Chapstick and Vaseline he tried to get me to use instead. I told him that he just didn't understand! I have, since then, turned him into a Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment addict as well.

The ointment lasts for hours and I reapply as necessary which isn't all that often. When using this during the day, I follow the directions listed above and apply my lipstick right over it.

Within a day or two of use, my chapped lips are just about healed. I seriously love this product and can't imagine ever switching to any other brand.

Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment is an awesomely effective product that is a must for anyone who has dry, cracked lips or even cold sores. It doesn't just moisten your lips it heals them as well. I definitely recommend this product and am giving this an enthusiastic 5 star rating.
