Quick View: Just as no topical cream canĀ  truly rid our faces of wrinkles, no topical cream can truly rid our bodies of fat. It's just that simple. This cream was given to me by a friend who had a bad reaction to it after just one use. I don't really need it but who doesn't want to tone and tighten their body? Well, I didn't see results. There are some ingredients in this cream that can temporarily tighten the skin but it is a short lived thing. This is too expensive to use when drugstore brands have the same ingredients and results.

About Bliss fatgirlslim

This cream comes in a six ounce jar and costs around $29.00. The idea behind the cream is that you rub it into the skin - primarily the thighs, butt area, and even the backs of the arms - and the cream will tighten and tone the skin and make your body look slimmer and flawless. Mmmmhmmm.

The cream is pleasantly fragranced and contains caffeine and QuSomes (a proprietary delivery enhancer that helps penetration). Caffeine if the primary active ingredient and it CAN tone the skin a little bit for a little while. However, it can't make a fat girl slim or even a slim girl toned. When I used it, it was a nice, thick cream that felt nice on my skin and didn't burn or even tingle. I used it on the backs of my legs upward (if ya know what I mean). I don't have cellulite but, at 43, my booty could use a lift and any toning I don't have to get through exercise is very, very good toning.

After applying the cream, I waited about 10 minutes and nothing happened that I could see. Perhaps my butt area was a tad tighter but I didn't suddenly get a 20 year old's booty. I still had the same old 43 year old's skinny little backside. I tried the cream on my belly and my arms for the heck of it and nah. Nothing.

Because I am slim, I didn't want to write a negative review that was misleading so I asked my older sister who is heavier than I am to try it and she did willingly. She said she felt a little tingle when she used it and she thought maybe, possibly her thigh area looked tighter for a while. She didn't see a huge difference but she did feel she may have looked a bit more toned for a few hours.

So it that worth $29.00? Not when Avon and drugstores are selling as much or more of the same type of product for far less. In this case, it isn't the brand that matters, it's the active ingredient and you can get that in many cheaper creams. None work great but, if you want to to try body smoother/firmer, why not pay as little as you can for the same results as the pricey stuff?

My Viewpoint

If only getting toned and firm were as easy as slathering cream on my body, I would quit exercising and just bath in the stuff. But nooooooooo. This product is very, very average at best. It's costly and barely does a thing. I believe that the caffeine in this product can temporarily firm certain areas but I also strongly believe that you don't need to pay so much for it. You can buy cheaper creams at any drugstore or through Avon that work the same. For this reason, I am going with 2 stars and not recommending this product.

In response to missfrick's comment from May 31, 2008 at 12:03AM:

I appreciate your comment, My sister, who has cellulite and is heavy, tried it for several days twice a day as I mentioned above. She felt a little bit tighter right after but that was it. I look forward to seeing if you have bettr results after using the product. There have been hoards of articles on cellulite and creams that simply cannot rid the body of it. Caffeine does tone but only for a short time. I write an anti aging column and I spoke with many, many women of all ages with cellulite issues who did use this and they saw minimal results. Still, I hope you get the results you are looking for and I really do appreciate your comment and understand why you feel as you do.

Well, if you read other reviews and instructions, you're supposed to use it twice a day for at least 30 days. I've just started using it myself, but after one application, you can't expect results. It's a process. ALSO it's used to help reduce cellulite, so if you don't have any, I don't think you'd have the same kinds of results. You're not qualified to review this product because you didn't use it for any timely duration, and you don't even have the problem that the product is supposed to solve!

Maxwell House would work just as well, I suppose?

Folgers Mountain Grown would probably do about as much good for less money.
