I have shopped from Blair dot com several times over the years as my father prefers their clothing. He is 80+ years old and hard to buy for! I placed an online order on December 1, 2008 and didn't think much about it. Always before I have gotten quick delivery and then many catalogs! This transaction has been very different. By mid-month I was a bit concerned and called their CS number. No deal. I repeatedly got the recording saying they are experiencing heavy call traffic and good-bye. No chance to leave a call-back number and no chance to talk to a live person. The online order status box has always showed "in process." I left two messages online and hoped for a response. No good. Finally, last week late at night I called again. Much to my surprise, I got a live person! I was informed of their shipping backlog, but the lady looked up my order and said it was in the shipping department and would soon go out and I would certainly get it prior to Christmas. Well, Christmas is tomorrow and I have yet to receive anything. Not exactly correct. I did receive two email responses to my inquiries. Both were standard replies telling me nothing. The website still shows my order as "in process." So, today I drive some 25 miles to the closest mall and conduct a frantic shopping search for something approximating the slacks I have ordered from Blair. I hate the malls, the crowds and have no idea if anyone locally makes something close to what I have ordered and what my father really wants. Thank-you, Blair! As others have said, Blair has offered very little communication regarding this matter and no convenient way to cancel my order. This company has obviously fallen on very hard times. I wonder if they have the resources to fill all these backorders. I am betting not. Good luck to any of us getting our money back!
