Blair.com reminds of the old fashioned bargain basement sales that department stores commonly held to excite shoppers who wanted to stretch their dollars. Truthfully, there is no glitz or fizz to be found here at Blair.com.
Now that you can find trendy and designer merchandise at stores like Target, it's sometimes surprisingly harder to find basic pieces that aren't trying to make a design statement. A simple cardigan, sheer window panels, and comfy cotton pajamas don't always need an edgy design or high price tag. When I need something simple and basic I always make it a point to check out Blair.com.
I've turned to Blair.com on a few occasions when I needed a basic purchase that was overpriced elsewhere. They have always delivered and I have always been satisfied.
My latest purchase was for a simple, lightweight cardigan sweater. Even during the summer I like to throw one over my shoulders if I'm in an air-conditioned room. Of course, I first checked out the usual resources - Target, Kohl's, and Penney's - but I couldn't seem to find a basic, inexpensive piece. Remembering the catalog that I received from Blair, I went online and instantly found 3 different sweaters that would work just fine. The sweater I selected was $5.99 and I got a 99 cents shipping deal. If I had bought a similar sweater at JC Penney's it would have cost me a good $19.99. Not bad, but not how much I wanted to spend on a simple piece that I will only use periodically.
I have used Blair to buy blankets, curtain rods, and basic camisole tops. Yes, there are a lot of elastic-waist polyester pants and country-style curtains that you have to sort through. But, if you're willing to sift through the site you may be surprised to uncover a good deal.Last edited on Sep 07, 2007
