There was quite a bit of hype leading up to this one. Ever since Old School, I've loved Will Ferrell and ever since Napolean Dynamite, I've liked Jon Heder. This seemed like a pretty good match up for a movie. I was a little put off by the PG-13 rating but it didn't seem to take away from the movie at all.

Plot: When two of the best skaters in the world of ice skating tie for a gold medal, they end up fighting on the podium and getting banned from singles competitions. When a loophole is found that will let them compete again, they must get past their differences and skate as a pairs team.

I found this movie hilarious. Will Ferrell was the perfect choice for his character and Jon Heder turned out to be a good choice for his. Ferrell really knows how to use his emotions for the best comical effect. Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, Jenna Fischer, Craig T. Nelson, and William Fitchner all do wonderfully and really bring their characters to life. The story is well written with some pretty good humor thrown in. There's also quite a bit of actual skating in it, which looks pretty tough for someone like Will Ferrell to do but he manages to pull it off.

There's not much else to say about Blades of Glory. This is a typical Will Ferrell movie. It's hilarious with some cool effects and a great story. Check this one out if it's still playing near you. If not, the DVD will be out August 28th.

MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for crude and sexual humor, language, a comic violent image, and some drug references)

Runtime: 1 hour 33 minutes

Year: 2007

Rating(out of 10): 8

Side Note: Even though this is rated PG-13, it's probably not appropriate for ages under 16.

I guess I was born without the Will Ferrell gene but he WAS funny with that little landlady on You Tube. But she was funny, not him. lol.

I hate to disagree with Patty, cuz we usually agree on most EVERYTHING, but I am ALL ABOUT the Will Farrell movies. I have a "Best of Will Farrell Saturday Night Live DVD". I just can't get enough of him! I can't wait to see this one!

Pattie and I are going to have to agree to disagree here. lol I love Will Ferrel and Adam Sandler.

Great review, as always.

I saw this movies twice in the theater and can't wait to buy it on DVD. It will be a good movie to watch anytime I am down because it totally cracked me up, even watching it the second time.

LOL, it's Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi. Maybe they used the title as a spin off though but let's never put Will Ferrell and Bon Jovi in the same sentence again. Haha.

I havent seen this movie yet-- is the title a Bon Jovi song?! Patty would know!

I think you meant to put Will Ferrell in the CONS section. Every movie he has ever made has been stupider than an Adam Sandler movie by far. I refuse to watch any Will Ferrell movie. Ever. And you should too. :-P
