Not worth the money.

2

I upgraded my original Blackberry to the Storm 2 and was very excited at first. I like the organizational features of Blackberry and the ease of a touch screen, however, I dislike that Blackberry lacks a contract with certain vendors and does not provide for a pleasant browsing experience when searching the web or attempting to use this "smartphone" for what other smartphones are capible of doing. Really, unless you are absolutely attached to your calendar, this phone isn't worth the money. Battery Life As with any phone, if you continuosly drain the batter, it will tend not to keep a charge for a period of time. I made every effort to make sure my battery was charged and alway traveled with a portable charger, but seldom needed to use it. The batter life was good. Display/Screen Quality I really liked the large screen and clarity on this phone. Call Quality I live in an area where there are lots of cell towers so reception was alway clear. I don't like to hold the phone up to my head however because the phone often got hot, so most of the time I would keep it on speaker and carry on with whatever it was that I was doing when the call came in. Often that ment the phone was placed on a counter as I walked around doing things. Not once did any of my calls ever complain they couldn't hear me or that the reception was bad. I was very pleased. Ease of Use This phone lost its luster once Android phones hit the market and took off. Up until then, this phone was great, except for accessign the internet and browsing. I hated not being able to view sites because the website did not support the phone browser. I loved that even though it had a touch screen face, it interacted with the user as if it weren't by creating a tapping sound and vibration when typing. It was a great feature for those of us who had transitioned from a push button phone to a touch screen. Durability I protected the phone with a silicon cover and found that to add to its durability and grip when I dropped it. After some time however, the touch screen features began to malfunction and it became difficult to use because the phone wouldn't recognize what I was pressing or trying to select.

The Blackberry Storm ?

3

The Blackberry Storm 2 will get you by but it is not the best thing that you can have. I used to have to have a Blackberry to open files I needed for work, but now so many other phones can also do this. This has the worst phone and I have had people refuse to call me anymore because they can not hear me when I am on talking to them. Battery Life The more running the worse the battery, so ck your apps all the time. Call Quality Be sure that you clean your speakers because over time things build up and people will not be able to hear you. Durability Be sure you get a good case for your Blackberry. they will seem to jump out of your hands at times.

this is the worst phone Iv had.

This is honestly one of the worst phones I have EVER had, my screen cracked within a month of having it from just being in my purse. It now shuts off if I put it down to hard, randomly shuts its self off, freezes and the battery has to be pulled out and when it reboots it takes a bar and a half of battery the battery only lasts a day if that and I am not on it all day and just recently I stopped receaving texts and phone calls and I couldnt call out I had to completely pull the battery out and the worst part is I diddnt even know it had happened my husband mentioned when he got home that he had sent me a text that i diddnt receive and we went and visited family and they told me they had been trying to call.

Love my storm

5

I really didn't want a touch screen at first but a few days later, I love my storm. It takes good pictures and videos. I use it to read my books from. Screen is large enough you can read from it with no problems. Great to text with, love that it has 2 different keyboards. Wonderful phone, I would highly recommend it. Also you can easily put many movies on it or videos with the large amount of storage available. If you keep the radio turned on it does drain somewhat quickly though.

It was a Blackberry

I love smart phones. I can't go back to a regular phone. Not after having a couple smart phones. Before this phone I had the Curve and it was awesome! of course it had its bugs but it was a Blackberry and I loved it! I was planning on going with the Tour but wanted something a bit "fresh". So I decided to go with the Storm2. It was a fun device! When I first opened it, I spent hours finding every last thing it could do and just messing around with it and having fun. This phone has everything your other Blackberry's have had. Unfortunately I have dropped it a couple times too many, and now is in bad condition. The screen got mushy after a couple months, and texting just was not the same. But, I'm sure that was all my fault. My mom has the same phone and hers is in perfect condition. Maybe cause I'm an avid texter? Just make sure to take care of your phone and it will be awesome to you. I hope you enjoy your phone as much as I did!

Backberry Storm2 9550's attempt at upgrading the Blackberry...

2

When I inititally decided to go with Verizon, I decided on the Blackberry Storm 2 beacus of the great reviews. I, myself, have always owned a Blackberry with other providers and have always loved its size, durability and ease of use. When I first received this phone by mail, I opened the box and pulled it out of its packaging. Upon inspection of the phone, its seems like a nice looking modern version of the Blackberry. I would have never known it was a blackberry. Uon turning it on, I immediately noticed the first big flaw. Then the touch screen is tapped for use it has a clicking sound and also notice that the screen itself actually moved in and out when it is touched for use. I immediately called verizon and reuqested a new phone because I believed it to be damaged. Upon receipt of the new phone, I realized that it was the phone itself was this way. Upon further use and inspection of the STorm 2 and its feautures, I found it to be like a regular blackberry phone with Blackberry normal features. Although the touch screen was a nice touch to the blackberry family, the delay was a bit annoying. When I tapped on a app, I woul dhave to wait a bit before getting a reaction. The actual keybord was also annoying for me also. It was awful trying to type a text message and have to erase and re type when the wrong letters would be added. I also hated the fact that there was a new way of typing a word and no way to turn it off. Sure press and Sure type. Not just the T9 type of typing, but it seemed to be a little smarter than that, but it was just horrible. Especially the fact that you could not turn it off. I do not really know why there was no way of turning this feature off. Some pluses of the Storm 2 was their attmept at the touch screen world, although, I believe it failed. No comparison to the non delay of the iphone which are the word winners in touch screen in my opinion. Also the apps are always great in blackberrys. And the battery life was ok, normal. I could actually get a decent amount of time before I had to re charge. The screen size was also a big huge plus for me. It was a nice large clear screen, unlike the regular blackberry. The camera was a 3.2 and took okay photos and videos. All in all, I give the storm 2 a 2 1/2 stars. Honestly, I would have rather gotten the regular non touch screen blackberry that I have always loved. This was a wasted of my time, I hated it. The delay, the screen movement, the clicking sound, and the typing keyboard made this phone a dud for me. Although the quality of the reception was always great, but I think that has to do more with the network, and not the phone itself. I am glad to say that I returned the Storm 2 and have gone in a different direction.

Very cool phone

I love my blackberry storm. This phone is very reliable and has so many different features includding an option to add more apps. The only downside to the phone is that the whole screen is a button so you have to highlight what you want then press. Sometimes the screen/button gets stuck but overall its an awesome phone. Also, it takes awesome photos!

Blackberry - Storm2 is a nice phone, but...............

It does have some issues.  The off button is in the lower right hand corner of the phone.  The slightest touch of that button while talking on the phone disconnects your call.  It is so frustrating.  It is agrivating for the people I am talking to as well.  There is no way to stop this from happening.  If I change the phone to the other ear, then you hit the dial button.  This activates a weird tone on the phone while you are talking!  Another issue I have is the backlight.  I have set it so it stays on for 1 minute before fading to black.  Never does!  It fades immediately.  The final issue is the light while using the phone.  As I go through my pictures or while working in the phone book, all of a sudden the light starts to fade!  Frustrating.  Batteries - they drain so quickly.  I have three backup batteries so I always have spares.  I change my battery every single day!  Sometimes, twice times a day.

good and bad

I have had the Storm 2 for about a year now.  Its not a bad phone, its just that when a phone costs as much as a laptop computer, it had better be amazing.  This phone has tons of bells and whistles that I love...but I'm sure you'd expect that.  Its the problem areas that most people want to know about.  The main problem I had with this phone was the sound.  I couldn't hear the other person that well.  Even on speakerphone, it just never gets loud enough to hear well.  The bluetooth helps, but still....for a phone this pricey, it should be better.  Also, you cant hold the phone up to your face with your shoulder...you'll press a million buttons and screw it all up.  My final complaint is that its so frustrating to reboot.  All blackberrys take forever, and this one is no different.  It takes about 6 - 8 minutes to reboot which is forever in the cell phone world.

Blackberry Storm 2

I switched to a BB Storm 2 from a BB Curve because of the larger screen. I personally am a Blackberry fan in general, from the layout, the menu options, the applications etc.  I stuck with a BB because of the apps. and the functionality.  It has enough storage space for my needs: I have my music library stored on it and my pictures; the camera has great resolution. I like that I can see incoming emails, texts and BB Messenger messages right away.    The things I don't care for with this phone is that it often freezes up. When you turn it slightly, it will turn and stay that way whether you intended it to or not.  The keyboard is sometimes difficult to type on.  If I didn't have fingernails (such as right after I trim them) I would often hit the wrong keys. Battery also doesn't have a long life.
