Blackberry - Storm Cell Phone —

There is no doubt in my mind that the Storm is quite an advancement over the older model Blackberries; however, I find the keyboard attrocious and generally cumbersome to operate. Simply put, the physical keyboard with its definite tactile presence is superior. In fact, when compared to the design of the dreadful iPhone, I have to admit that even the iPhone wins out to the Storm. This is of course a matter of preference. Maybe you experience will differ, but I find that the outer-most key of the Storm are less accurate during typing. Not so with the the hard keys of old.

I'm also turned off by the the browser. It's not as complete as the marketing would have you believe. There is plenty of content that gets missed due to limited capability. Oh, and I might add that there is no WiFi capacity. Verizon will tell you that it is not needed given the speed of 3G, but my wireless router and its high-speed cable backbone will leave 3G in the dust any day.

All those gripes aside, the design is sleek and compact although the contraption is rather delicate. And, the browser does look good with simple pages...it certainly beats the iPhone hands down on that aspect. The Storm's sound quality if very good on the phone side, but rather flat when it comes to MP3s

In general, I would give this a solid three score. I might have gone for a four had it not been for the change in the size of the USB charge which necessitates purchasing a new car charger. Here's a hint, you can get an adapter for only a couple of bucks.

Thank you for this. I have been debating whether or not to upgrade from my 8130 to the Storm and I think I will wait. They always seem to come out with something better and maybe they will fix the glitches.
