Not worth it.

2

I bought the phone thinking it'd be great & it was for a short while. It was NOT durable & it had problems within 8 months. First it started as the screen going black at times, then it went to not turning on at all. Yea, it seems like a good phone, but I am not the only one who had issues with it. Come to find out others have complained of such problems with this phone. Do yourself a favor & avoid it.

Worst phone I've had in YEARS

1

I had a Blackberry Curve on US Cellular. When that unit developed a real bad dead zone at my office, I decided to look for alternatives. I needed a phone, of course, and organizer that would sync with Microsoft Outlook and web browsing.   I had been comfortable with Blackberry products before and I thought the Iphone expensive. Plus, I wasn't sure I could get the Iphone to sync with Outlook.  liked the idea of a touch screen, as the buttons on the Curve were too small. So, I got the Blackberry Storm from Verizon and have been annoyed ever since. I'm been more annoyed since I got an Ipod Touch in a raffle. I've used the Itouch as basically a proxy for the Iphone in comparison.   Among the annoyances are: * Input. The touch screen doesn't do a great job of signalling the letter or number before I hit it. There have been a lot of annoying typing errors. The Itouch input screen is tremendously better,  so much so that I'm now using the Itough to sync my calendar.   * memory. The Storm had 16 MBs, but it's frequently locking up because the cache is full. I have to pull the battery out several times per day to clear the cache. Worse, I ofted get the icon fir iverload when someone is trying to call me and I can's answer the phone * Verizon cut the price in half but it was too late to issue discounts to the people who bought the Storm in early to mid 2009. * Ipod's browser has more detail and can load more web sites than the Storm. I've got a hefty cancellation charge which I would be willing to eat if a new Iphoine came out.   I do like the camera on the Blackberry and Verizon's service has been ok.   Still, I'm sorry I got this and cannot recommend it.       Battery Life ok Display/Screen Quality touch screen poor for input Call Quality lots of drops/dead zone Ease of Use ok Durability needed frequent reboots Design locked up a lot

I'm addicted to my Blackberry Storm and can't put it down

My husband had a Blackberry Curve, and I wasn't impressed - I didn't like the trackball. When Verizon put the Storm on sale, buy one get one free, we couldn't resist. No trackball! Lots of apps! And best of all, it connected with our enterprise server so we could sync our email, calender, tasks, and all the other fun Outlook stuff. I love having emails and my calendar at my fingertips. I never have to leave email behind, and since I work freelance from home, email is my lifeline. I am available at all times by phone or email unless I choose to shut off the phone (and yes, I do shut it off in the theater). I also have a free Facebook app on my Storm, so I get all my Facebook status updates and also all my comments, messages, etc. instantly. I can update my Facebook status from my phone, take photos on my phone and upload them to Facebook, and see whatever my friends have posted. The camera is good, not great. It works best in good light, with a full battery. Make sure your subject isn't backlit. I have taken several brief videos outdoors that have been amazingly good for a camera phone. I like the one-touch button "voice calling" feature. Simply press the button on the side of the phone and you'll hear "Say a command." Say "call XXXX" and the phone will confirm, out loud, that it has heard you correctly. Then it will dial that contact. Nice for when you're driving and must make an emergency call but don't want to be distracted by dialing. Although my husband has had his same Storm for nearly 2 years, I am on my fourth. I have had one problem after another with quality; from the charger port to the operating system. Each replacement has worked fine for 1 day to 6 months, then I have to replace it again. I think it's just me, since my husband's phone has always worked great. But I would highly recommend the replacement plan! Ultimately, though, what has sold me on the Blackberry Storm is a stupid game, available ONLY on the Storm: Word Mole. I am one of the top players, apparently, and I can't quit. When I finally turn in my Storm for something better (and what would that be?), I'll keep at least one Storm, maybe two, just for the Word Mole game.

Great idea, but doesnt follow through...

I usually try to buy the newest phones that are out. So as soon as I saw this one I had to have it. It worked great for the first week or so, and then it became so slow that using it is practically impossible. I havent downloaded a bunch of stuff (or anything at all) and yet I have to reset it at least every few hours. The battery is horrible (having to charge it after 10 hours after not using it at all day is not good). Sometimes it locks up when it rings, and then I either cant answer until the little clock is done spinning or it answers itself.  I contacted customer service about the lock up problems and their suggestion was to take the battery out and reset the phone every time!  I should not have to reset my phone 10 times a day to get it to work. Maybe I just got a bad one. Im jealous of the users who have no problems with theirs.

I still love my Iphone over the blackberry storm

3

A bit on the bulky side, and randomly freezes, there is no ease of switching to a different screen while still making calls, the screen goes black, not a great battery life. There are pros to it like apps and what-not, but since having the iphone the day it came out I am still more attatched to it. Though, my blackberry is touch screen the screen clicks and gets stuck, it is just not as easily navigatable as the Iphone. I am an extremely big texter, try giving that up for Lent, and on the blackberry it took me a bit to figure out how to send text messages from it, there was not a simple "send" button with or above the keyboard, I had to go into a menu and press send, I later learned that you can hit enter twice, though that does not always work, and may get stuck. I plus on the texts was that while you were writing one and recieved another you could also read that one at the bottom of the screen. I have met many other individuals who enjoy the newer versions of the Blackberry, such as the Tourch. Even though it's not for me, it is better than many othr phones.

Not crazy about Blackberry

I'm just coming up on the end of my 2 year contract with this phone and am dying to get rid of it! Have had problems getting updates and features to run, and just overall, it is bulky and hard to carry around if you don't have it holstered.

Blackberry Storm is just okay.

I have had good luck with my Blackberry Storm in comparison to some other people that I know, but I think that it is a just okay product It doesn't have any qualities that I am overly impressed with. It has a good battery life. I can charge it and it will last for two days which is way better than any other phone that I have had. I also think that the camera takes very good quality pictures. The problem is that it freezes a lot. I will try to answer the call and the hour glass that indicates that it is waiting for something just turns and the call drops on the caller. I have already returned one Storm for the same issue. Another issue is the lack of apps compared to the iPhone. I will be switching to the iPhone as soon as my contract is up.

I am never going back to the Storm

1

I thought this phone was the bomb back then about 2 and 1/2 years ago. Boy was I wrong, the internet was so slow and I was never able to do any work on it except maybe a little bit of email. The video quality is horrible and blurry and it was impossible to watch videos on that phone without getting a headache. I this the technology is so outdated and it is so much inferior to the other Smartphones that are out there. I honestly believe this is more like a regular phone that can receive text, emails and handle talk-time. I don't even think it qualifies to be a Smartphone. I was under the phone contract with the Storm for 2 years and I feel I missed out on other much superior phones that came out around the time the Storm came out. I was paying the monthly bill of a Smartphone but I had a phone without the Smartphone features for two years with the Blackberry Storm.

Pretty much a disappointment.

I have owned this phone for quite a while now. At first, I absolutely loved it. The touch screen, the size, and the keyboard are all great. The biggest issue that I had in the beginning was that sometimes things took some time to load. As long as I did a battery pull every couple of days it was not so bad. Over time things have gotten much worse. It freezes up constantly (and no amount of battery pulls or upgrades have helped), turns off by itself(sometimes in the middle of calls), and I sometimes have trouble with the keyboard. Sometimes when I need to make a call it freezes up and it takes a couple of minutes before I can actually dial the number. I will be switching phones next month as I don't want to have to worry about having an emergency and not being able to make a call right away! This phone is not completely terrible but it is not one that I would recommend either as it has caused me a lot of frustration.

This phone is soooo amazing OMG!

I absolutely LOVE the Blackberry Storm. It is quite a luxury to own! Unfortunately, the Blackberry Storm that I had owned I had bought used off of some guy. That probably wasn't the best decision as the camera never opened and there were a few other issues. Anywho, despite my disfortunes, this phone is EXCELLENT! Again, I cannot review on the camera quality, which I'm sure is the same as all Blackberry devices as they ARE all the basically the same. I'll admit, this phone doesn't do anything extraordinary, I just love the design! It is so classy and chic and modern! Well, it does do one extraordinary thing: touchscreen. The freaking touchscreen is clickable! Some people do not like this but I do! It just makes surfing the web a true experience unlike it's worthy opponent.. the iPhone. While it makes surfing the web completely awesome, the clicking screen function makes texting SO ANNOYING! I always seem to be pressing the wrong letters because the whole keyboard is like connected. This review is too long, bye!
