I bought my red Pearl in March, and after several days of impatience in which I didn't really want to read the manual (but I wanted it set up exactly as my last phone had been; unfortunately that phone was NOT a Blackberry), I managed to find a forum strictly for Blackberry users that helped me with everything I wanted to know. After 3 days of ownership, I had my personal ringtones and backgrounds back!!!
I love the fact that I can constantly link to my email addresses quickly and easily; setting that up was no problem for me. The Internet is easy to navigate, though the browser could use a pep-pill at times. It came with a handy case, but I will totally invest in some skins after reading several other reviews!
The phone is small and sexy, and I love how user-friendly it is. Though I might add that people who are not tech sevvy MAY have an issue with it, anyone who has used a cell phone in the past will have the hang of it within a week or two. The camera is excellent, considering it's a cell and I usually have my digi cam on me; please remember it's a cell phone and can only do so much!!
One thing - make sure to invest in a micro-SD card. Having never owned a Blackberry before, I believed this to be an "option"; I was infuriatingly wrong. I am a serial texter -this is how I usually communicate- and unbeknownst to me, I was running low on storage space (the phone doesn't warn you). I went into my texts exactly 2 Saturdays after I bought the phone, and all the texts except the saved ones were gone. I googled and found that when it is low on space, it deletes things, starting with texts. I was beside myself. So buy the extra memory; it's cheap and WELLLL worth it!!!
Additionally, it has "frozen" twice and I have had to pop the battery out; it resets itself in 2-3 minutes and I'm back in business. I have experienced worse so I don't freak out about the little things.
