I used a Razr flip phone for about 3 years before I purchased by BlackBerry. What a breath of fresh air!
There are so many great features on this phone. It does take a few days to get used to navigating the menus and typing on the miniature QWERTY keyboard. Once you get the hang of those things it is very user friendly with great user guides that tell you how to access different features, apply settings, download new ringers, surf the net, etc. (so you don't have to carry the instruction booklet around).
This is my first experience with a phone that navigates with trackball and it is so nice, especially when surfing the web. You can adjust the sensitivity of the trackball too. Pretty cool. The camera (although it is only 1.3 MP) takes really sharp, true to color pictures..not dull or fuzzy like I've experienced with other phone cameras. Plus, there is an automatic flash that comes on when you need some extra lighting for your pics.
One downside of the phone is having to lock the keyboard before putting it in my purse or pocket to avoid accidentally calling people. Also, in order to enable the video feature or transfer photos from your PC you must have a memory card. Would have been nice to have a little bit of onboard HD space. One other thing I wasn't the happiest about is the fact that through Verizon I had to upgrad to a plan that was $30 more a month. Still worth it though to have 24/7 internet access...
