A good phone but has its pros and cons great phone when it comes to downloading apps and internet browsing however it freezes up @ times for no reason. Bought the phone from tmobile and have a love and hate relationship with it love it whn it. Works hate it when it freezez up randomly

overall i really liked this phone when i had it. i loved the fact that it was tiny and fit anywhere. only thing that wasnt so good was the internet web browser. other than that realy liked that phone.

i am pretty surprised this phone got descent rating because my personal experience is not good at all. i did not use this phone but my husband did and he always always had problems with it. to begin with it would take forever for the phone to come on and the worst thing about this phone is that the track ball was horrible. it got stuck immediately. i have known so many people that used this phone and they all had problems with it except one person... he was lucky, i guess. one good thing though about this phone and many other blackberry is that the charger is the same as many gps. so i did not need to buy a car charger for this phone. it used the same one as my gps. not only did i save money but i did not need to find an extra place or cram my car with stuff. another good thing about this phone is that you do not need to purchase a data plan, or we did not when we got this phone two years ago.

**This* Phone *has been extremely durable and reliable considering the fragility of the cell phone these days. I bought the 4GB SD memory card and popped it in the side of the phone and now I have tons of songs and video that I keep on my phone, I don't even use my IPOD anymore. I get on the internet and check my email, sports news and for me its so much better than the IPhone which I've owned. My fingers are so big it makes the IPhone hard to use. Plus the small SD card that I popped into the side of the phone can be converted into a bigger SD card and inserted into my laptop or camera. Also the video and camera makes this phone virtually the best smartphone/ PC Phone.**

The Blackberrry Pearl 8110 was a little hard to figure out at first.  However, it is a fun phone and has a lot of features.  The phone is multifuntional but probably not the best phone for tech savoy people.  The keys are a little small for texting and the trackball tends to get stuck often.  I found that the phone does not ring very loud.  Overall, I am content with the phone but will most likely upgrade soon.

8110 BlackBerry Pearl Red is the best phone I have ever had. And here is why: Keyboard: Keyboard on this phone is very weird. It is complicated and it takes a while to get used to. All the symbols and letters are located in mixed places and it's hard to find them sometimes. I have been a Samsung user for quite a while and I should say it's very hard to type a simple text message on this phone.Menu:Phone Menu is weird too. The names of the icons that are associated with the applications do no really tell you what that button or application does. Some of them are repetitive and useless. Camera:Camera is surprisingly good. Pictures are of good quality. You can use it with or without flash. Video camera is good too and you can used it with flash as well.Battery:Battery is not well secured in the phone and when it moves the phone shuts down. The battery is not the bad one but I does not hold the charge long enough. And I had to buy a new one because the one that came with the phone originally stopped working 6 months after the purchase. Screen:Screen has very good resolution but it's not very well protected against scratches. I keep my phone in the protective leather case and it still does not help with the scratches. Features:There is no speaker in the phone. This makes it very inconvenient for me. It also has push to talk feature which is completely useless for me because of terribly high fees that AT&T set for it. Sound: Sound quality is not very good. I can't hear my ringer even if the volume is set on its highest. After having used it for more than 2 years I should say that it was not worth all the money I paid for it. It does not have all the useful features and does not really work all that well. I am a texter, but with a keyboard like this phone has I can't do anything even after 2 years.

I got my Blackberry Pearl 8110 about two weeks ago. So far, I really enjoy this phone. There are a few things I would change, however. I'll start with the cons: I don't like how the menu only has a few options for how it's set up. I liked having my picture of choice as my background on my last phone. On this phone, to do that, I have to have the icons in an L-shape. It's not a big deal, but I would think a phone this advanced would allow you to drag the icons to where you want them. I also don't like how, when I get a call, the phone vibrates, then rings. It seems like I have to have the phone near me to hear it- if it's in another room, then by the time I hear it ring, it's already been ringing for a bit, and I miss the call. Again, small, but noticeable con. The positives... This phone is much more solid than other phones I have. I like that it came with a case so that it's protected. The battery life isn't bad, and I like that you can see exactly what percent you have left. The camera is phenomenal! It even has a flash. I also like scrolling around with the ball. This phone also has a lot of storage space and room for a memory card. I enjoy the shortcut buttons on the side as well. The phone also has quite a good range in volume. Great phone! I'd definitely recommend it.

I wanted Blackberry Pearl 8110 because it is light, slim, good-looking and a smart phone. I am satisfied with all of these characteristics of it but I have to admit that it is not as user-friendly as I imagined. To be more specific, I find its writing software very confusing and its keyboard very hard to use. Although **I do not text at all **or **I do not access the Internet **through my cell phone, it is still frustrating while adding someone new to my address book or writing a note to myself. I am a very tech-savvy person but I just could not adapt to its keyboard & smart type ckaracteristic.

I got a refurbished BlackBerry Pearl 8110 from AT&T Wireless a couple of months ago and overall have been very satisfied with its usefulness -- in large part because my employer runs a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, so I get all the benefits of BlackBerry's famous push email service both for work and personal email accounts (the latter via the BlackBerry Internet Service). The trackball's vertical behavior is sometimes maddening to me, as my timing seems to often have the cursor end up on a menu item one item above or below the one I really wanted to click on. I've tried reducing the vertical motion sensitivity via the device's options, but that brings its own frustration in the form of not moving the cursor as quickly as I'd like per unit of physical rotation of the trackball, so I've been trying to train myself to wait for half a second or so after scrolling in a menu before clicking on the selected menu item, so I can see for sure which item is selected before I click. I still unintentionally scroll up or down sometimes during the on-trackball click itself, though, and less frequently. horizontally while trying to scroll vertically through an alternative-words list while typing text, which can put me into alternative-character selection mode instead -- not waht I had wanted. The SureType keyboard takes a couple of days to get used to, but between the predictive type-ahead and BlackBerry alternative-word/alternative-character popup menus, it's quite usable. I don't do all that much typing, though, so your mileage may vary. I also try to use vlingo to take dictation instead of typing by hand, occasionally. The one unavoidable deficiency of the SureType keyboard is that because its keys are labeled to appear like a QWERTY keyboard, it's just about impossible to key in phone numbers that are written using the letters that are associated with those digits on the traditional phone keypad or rotary dial (anyone else remember rotary dial phones?). If that's a use case that comes up frequently for you, caveat emptor. The fact that the Opera Mini Web browser is supported on BlackBerry is very handy as an addition to the built-in browser, which is certainly no slouch itself. As there was no such thing as a 3G BlackBerry until just this week, there was nothing to be done about the speed of Web browsing, so I can't complain about that. I've contented myself with using it only for the limited uses where it makes sense, like checking the weather forecast bwhen I'm already out of the house and away from a computer. I've also learned to not wait around for the page to load but rather to hit the "phone end" key after submitting the request for the page, then and going on with my other tasks in progress and checking the results later (sometimes even holstering the BlackBerry and doing non-computer-relatedthings in the interim, gasp!). GPS apps work pretty well, though on both this and another refurbished instance that I compared against, the BlackBerry internal status screen for GPS never shows anything but 0 degrees for both latitude and longitude (I guess that's at least part of the reason the units vwere returned and refurbished in the first place). That's not a big deal, given that more capable apps like Google Maps and got-2 seem to work perfectly well.
