Great work phone!

5

I had this Blackberry phone in Sunset (red) for many years and feel it is the best phone I have ever used for work. First off, I like that it includes an entire keyboard (what blackberry does best)! This makes it easy to type long emails and edit documents. The track ball is also awesome and makes it very easy to scroll through messages, emails, etc. The phone also looks attractive and I enjoyed being the sunset color. Also, I really like that everytime you have a message or email the red lights flashes on the front. This is convenient because it meetings you may not want your phone to go off but you can always look for the red light. This phone also has built in features that are great for work. The calender function is really great and displays events on your front page every day. I really enjoy that type of reminder and I have not found another phone with the same function, usually you have to go to a different screen for event reminders. With the Blackberry the reminds are always right there when you open your phone. I also like that you can read the beginning multiple messages and emails on the front display screen before actually opening the phone. I also found the durability, battery life, call quality, and design to all be great. That being said, this phone does not have that many apps and does not have a great camera which is why I strictly used it for work.

Standard Smartphone that's compact and great size

4

Nice phone that's able to work with one hand, no problem at all and the QWERTY keypad is very useful on typing without the need of both fingers. Accessing Internet saves power and performs in fast experience. Battery Life Charges very quickly and discharged calmy afterwards. Display/Screen Quality It's small and the browser fits comfortably in that small size window. Call Quality There are cracks that appear in my phone, despite of that there are jumps that'll occur if you pressure the phone too tight and will continue this pace. Most of the time it works fine. Ease of Use No complex buttons mapping and everyone is in the tiny fingers. Durability If it happens to drop those one down on the stairway, it'll likely be cracked or destroyed. After all, it's made of plastic which isn't durable than more hardened material . Design it can fit anywhere you can go, fit flawlessly in your pocket too. Very well designed compact smartphone with sets of plugs around it.

Sturdy but old technology

The Blackberry Curve was the first smartphone I ever purchased. In fact, I still have it and use it when my current smartphone has a problem. Pros: Easy to type on, great work phone, syncs emails seamlessly, has held up for many years and has even survived a spill from Thai iced tea. Cons: It just does not have as many apps as does the iphone or android phones. This in itself has been frustrating as the world of apps has evolved and become more mainstream. I cannot tell you how much I wanted to get a new phone because I couldn't use productivity apps since they weren't made for BlackBerry. Furthermore, my t-mobile phone did not support 3G or 4G, it was EDGE which was so incredibly slow. It made paying for the internet pretty much useless because loading a page took 3-5 minutes. All in all, it is a sturdy and useful phone to send emails, make calls, and send texts, but if you're looking for speedy internet access or a plethora of apps to use, look elsewhere.

Blackberry Curve Sunset

3

I have owned my Blackberry Curve (Sunset - red color) for a little over a year now. When I first got it, I absolutely loved it. I went crazy entering in all of my contacts, calendar dates - birthdays, appointments, TV shows, etc. I downloaded some free apps, and I synched my phone with my computer. I still like it for the most part, but it freezes up quite often. When this happens, I usually have to turn it off and then on again. It's pretty frustrating at times, especially when I need to use it right then. The track ball sometimes messes up as well, and I cannot move the cursor until I get it back into the "correct" position. I've also had issues with my alarm - it doesn't go off every once in awhile, so I would recommend using an additional way of waking yourself up in the morning. However, I do enjoy having the internet available whenever I need to search for something, such as an address or something on Google (I'm addicted to searching for useless information). Sometimes I can hear an echo when talking to people, but I have never really had any phone issues other than that.

A very sturdy and useful phone

I purchased the Blackberry (or crackberry, as I like to call it) last April.  Why?  Well, I had recently switched jobs and had to give my company blackberry back.  I decided that I liked it enough to pay for my own.  And I do like it.  I like how it fits in my hand, and how the keys are easy to use.  I like the track ball and being able to get to the web pretty much any time that I want to or need to.  And I like that it has some apps.   However, there are some things that I don't like about it.  For some reason, every few days I can no longer get my email.  I don't know what goes on, but I find that I have to turn off my phone, take out the battery, and reset everything.  Doing this doesn't cause any problems, but it is a nuisance.  Also, since the screen is relatively small, it is sometimes hard to get the screen size to increase when clicking with the track ball.  You have to position the curser (using the track ball) exactly right and then click without moving the track ball in order to either move to another page or increase the size.  Again, nothing major, but it is a nuisance.  Overall, I like the phone and will continue to use it. Battery Life My battery lasted about 18 months before it simply stopped working. I had hoped for a longer battery life.

The 8320 Blackberry Curve wins out over the Pearl Flip!!

4

I started with my first Blackberry smartphone being the Blackberry Pearl Flip and it was NOT as great as it looked! With my New BB Curve I can really use it as a Smartphone, whereas the Flip was such a dumb phone! The letters & numbers of the Curve are very small but the ease in which I can type and navigate is so much better!! The battery lasts longer than the Flip although since moving to another state I don't use it as much. I text alot more and that is so much funner than the Flip too! The Camera is much better & so is taking video. My download speeds are faster and I have a very cheap mobile account with Virgin Mobile (pay as u go) yet still have unlimited web, text & Messaging (which I didn't really have with my old provider T-Mobile but was paying twice as much!) It may not be the "lastest and greatest" Curve phone on the market but for the money...you really can't go wrong with the Blackberry Curve 8320 it's a good phone! Battery Life Battery is not bad but then I don't have the heavy useage I did before I moved. Recharging is very fast, much faster than witht the Pearl Flip. Display/Screen Quality Much better than what i had before. Call Quality I hear pretty clearly and haven't had a dropped call yet! Ease of Use it's very easy to use for the most part, the keys are very tiny though. and I can't get the flash to go off when taking pictures now, I think i need to find the setting to turn it back on! Durability Seems pretty durable so far. Design I like the design a lot, but now I want my next phone to be upgraded to an even nicer design/style of Blackberry.

Love it

At first, was a little intimidating.  I am a big fan and long time user of Nokia phones, the most recent is 660.  I used that and a palm.  after much research, i decided to give the curve a shot.  The instructions booklet was surprising slim, really just the basics.  However the basic setup was surprisingly easy.  Was on the net and receiving email within a very short time. The keyboard is very small and the usual problems for a leftie, but got use to it.  Not crazy about the carrier ( AT&T), which has a more expensive data plan than previous carrier T-mobile, however they did not have the Curve at the same i signed up  They do now!  All in all, 4 out of 5 stars

An excellent phone that is convenient and easy to carry

5

I've had my Blackberry Curve for a while, and I am in love.  When my husband suggested that we get Blackberries, I was against the idea because I couldn't imagine why I, a mom of two toddlers, would need a smartphone.  I think secretly he needed me to get the phone because they were buy one, get one free.  Regardless, I agreed, and now I'm not sure how I ever lived without this phone.  It is easy to use and allows me to browse the internet, get directions, text, and check the weather or news wherever I am without having to find a computer.  I do not have a protective case on my phone like my husband does, and my phone is rather scratched, but the screen is very resilient, so while the body of my phone is dinged up pretty badly, the screen is still unscratched.  I especially like the fact that I can add memory to the phone and store videos and pictures of my children.  I highly recommend this to everyone, even those who think they have no need for a smartphone.

It's sturdy, and it works.

The Blackberry Curve 8320 was the first smartphone I've had. And for that, it gets great respect from me. It was also my first and only forray into UMA calling. UMA calling is a feature on many phones (more popular a few years back), which allowed you to make calls over Wifi. If you're a business person who travels internationally, this can be a godsend. Suddenly you can get free international calling wherever there's wifi. And the Curve does a great job of that too. Not to mention great email, texting, and calendar support. It does the job, and it does it great. Keep in mind that although this is a very good basic smart phone, it is just that. If you're looking for customizability or advanced features, go for an Android phone. But if you want a good, sturdy, reliable phone for business usage and dont want any fancy new features, this is definitely a good option.

My life in the palm of my hand

Days of the landline are behind me, and now so are the days of a handheld flip phone. This Blackberry is amazing. Wherever I go i have the capability of answering the phone, texting a message, getting my email and browsing the web! It stores all my contact information - people's names, addresses, email addresses, various phone numbers and any other info I may want to enter about them. The contacts are easy to find and choosing whether to call them or text them or email them is easy as wel. I love the full keyboard - saves time when texting. I also love that I get my facebook messages and status updates on it as well. I never go very far without my Blackberry. For a very organized business professional as myself, this Blackberry is a necessity!
