This original Black & Decker brand toaster oven is still the best toaster oven even made.  As the new brands and models began coming out, I purchased several different ones and was disappointed with each of them.  I went back to my old Black & Decker model every time.  I still have my original Black... read full review »

For toast, buy a toaster. For reheating leftover or frozen pizza, buy a B&D toaster oven. Works better than a microwave for crisping and is obviously more efficient than a conventional oven.  Use tinfoil on the little broiler pan to keep it clean.

Hardly safe for children and other living things, with...

I  agree with the reviewer who said the door is a "pain in the rump". The door brings out the sliding toast rack and it ALWAYS gets caught making it difficult to shut the door again.

The timer for the toast has never worked. It is VERY, VERY imprecise. Sometimes there is a "bing" noise and sometimes there isn't when the toaster is turned off after using. The toast must be watched CONSTANTLY because it will burn if you are not constantly vigilant.

This is a cheap, cheap imitation of the toaster ovens Black and Decker used to make which were actually quite good. This was a replacement for a Kitchenaid...

I bought this toaster to replace an older model of B&D toaster oven.  The toaster switch is a dial that you set for a certain number of minutes for light, medium or dark toast.  It seems to take forever to make light toast, but the real danger is the timer often sticks just before shutting off and the toast burns.  I got sidetracked making breakfast and when I turned to get the toast my whole toaster was in flames.  I immediately pulled the plug and tried to open the door to remove the burning bread but the flames went POOF and ignited even more.  I had to use a fire extinguisher to...

I would definitely not have even bought this oven if I had not gotten it so cheap because the box was gone and I had discount coupons on top of that.

When you pull open the door of this oven it pulls out the wire rack and when you close it  the rack is pushed back in. Here lies the problem. Because it does not go in and out smoothly, it takes two hands. It has enough resistance that it feel as if it's rusted. You have to put one hand on top of the sometimes "hot" open to pull the door open and then to close it. You absolutely cannot close it with one hand without feeling like you are...

The outside casing gets too hot to touch, even in the time it takes to make toast. A shelf a foot above the toaster also got uncomfortably warm. This is dangerous and all that heat loss is probably not very energy efficient. The rack does not slide easily enough, I had to remove the toast with tongs. Toast took a long time, and did not brown nicely. It does nothing right. If you want to bake, it broils and bakes at the same time. Burns food needed to bake only. Waste of money. so if your thinking about buying one your better off spending a little more money to get a Toaster oven that will work.... read full review »

As a college student the Black and Decker Toaster Oven-Classic Toast-R-Oven is a god send because it's cheap and gets the job done. I don't like the clean up because its usually bake on food that is really hard to take off with water and soap plus you have to be careful that none of the water goes through the opening or else you risk a broken toaster!

The Black and Decker Classic Toaster Oven has made my life easier! It's just the right size for me and my husband, is reasonably priced, easy to use, and doesn't heat up the kitchen the way the stove would! It's a great buy.

I have used my Black & Decker toaster oven for years as an easy alternative to using the stove oven.  I hate using the stove oven for small amounts of food.  Most fozen items that instructions say microwave or heat in oven taste much better when cooked in toaster oven.  Preheating the toaster oven is fast and the food cooks fast.  You have to watch it so it doesn't burn but that isn't much of a problem.  I found out by accident how sturdy my Black & Decker toaster oven is too when I dropped it on the floor and it still worked.

I use the Black & Decker Classic Toast-R-Oven for all my small baking and toasting needs.  It is great to heat up a quick snack or make a lunch for one (pot pies, small pizza) and still get the big oven taste and texture not found in microwaving these products.   It heats up quickly and stays at the desired temperature during baking.  It is great for toasting bread, bagels and english muffins for breakfast.

It is probably the single small kitchen appliance that I couldn't live without!!!!

My Black and Decker Classic Toaster oven has lasted for over seven years. It still toasts bread, heats leftovers, and bakes small loaf cakes perfectly. Its only drawback is that it's a little hard to clean, and that some of the paint on the exterior comes off when scrubbed. However, that's a small consideration compared to the great value I've gotten from it for all these years.

I have been married 37 years and have never owned a toast-R-Oven until last year. I truly love it. My children are grown, so it is only my husband and I and I have discovered many ways to use the toaster oven, from making a grilled cheese sandwich to grilling a steak, to warming pizza. It is wonderfully convient. I would recommend it to everyone.

I use theBlack & Decker Classic Toast-R-Oven  to bake small cakes (enough for two); re-heat pizza and other items that do not do well in a microwave.  It is convenient and I feel good knowing I am saving on electricity.  It is also a good wedding gift or for friends to use in motor homes, etc.

The Black and Decker Toaster Oven-Classic Toast-R-Oven is so handy and works great. My kids use it at least once or twice a day. I love the convenience of it and it is easy to use and I feel safe when they are using it and not the oven or stove. I doesn't take up much space and it is easy to clean up.

Black and Decker Toaster Oven - Classic Toast-R-Oven

This is a great started toaster oven and about as easy to clean as any other (kinda a hassle) BUT in my opinion, I could not have made it through college without a Toaster Oven and this one is perfect for every day use.
