I agree with the reviewer who said the door is a "pain in the rump". The door brings out the sliding toast rack and it ALWAYS gets caught making it difficult to shut the door again.
The timer for the toast has never worked. It is VERY, VERY imprecise. Sometimes there is a "bing" noise and sometimes there isn't when the toaster is turned off after using. The toast must be watched CONSTANTLY because it will burn if you are not constantly vigilant.
This is a cheap, cheap imitation of the toaster ovens Black and Decker used to make which were actually quite good. This was a replacement for a Kitchenaid Convection Toaster Oven which was given to charity after a month because it took ten minutes to make toast.
Doesn't anyone make a relatively small, HIGH quality toaster oven which looks half-way decent on the countertop? I am all but giving up hope after reading so many internet reviews on many toaster ovens which FAIL to live up to what they are supposed to do. I guess what I want is a TOASTER which opens like a toaster oven so that both toast and cheese toast are a cinch to make! This isn't it!
