Black and Decker ScumBuster Xtreme Review

My days of manually scrubbing the bathroom tile are virtually over!  A friend told me about the Black and Decker ScumBuster Xtreme, and I was very skeptical.  It looks and sounds a lot like one of those cheap cleaning tools you see on info-mercials.  However, after a few rave reviews from different friends, I decided to try it out...I mean, what-the-heck it's only $40.

The first time I used it, I was absolutely amazed.  It only took me about 45 seconds to become a convert!  The ScumBuster Xtreme has a roller brush at the end of an extendable handle (think hard to reach shower corners).  The motor powers the brush so that it spins around and does the cleaning for you.  All you have to do is hold it...no elbow grease required!  The handle has a compartment for some cleaner, so you can control how much liquid you use on each area.  The cleaner sprays right ahead of the spinning brush, making it even easier to use and less likely that you'll accidentally spray yourself.  Some cleaning equipment requires you to buy a compatible cleaning solution, and that always irritates me.  I really like that this tool allows you to use whatever you want.

I regularly use the ScumBuster Xtreme on the bathroom floor, showers and bathtubs.  Also, it works great on our outdoor furniture.  Living in Hawaii, everything outside is covered in red dirt and needs to be cleaned every few weeks.  This is a fast and easy way to care for our table, chairs and loungers. 

The product information says that the ScumBuster Xtreme is fully submersible, but I haven't tried that yet.  It works fine with the water running, but I have yet to hold it under the faucet to test this claim.  Each charge usually lasts between 20-30 minutes, which is plenty of time to get through 3 bathrooms.  I have found that this tool allows me to achieve a more thorough clean in about 1/3 of the time it used to take.  Black and Decker also includes a 2 year warranty, but I have been using mine for 3 months without any problems.

The ScumBuster Xtreme is the most wonderful thing to happen to cleaning since I-don't-know-when.  I recommend it to anyone who has better things to do than clean.
