Black & Decker TRO390W Review

This is my second Black & Decker toaster over in 16 years. We simply outgrew the first one. This toaster oven is perfect for all my immediate lunch and breakfast needs. I have four children under 10 and we use this for chicken nuggets, fish sticks, toast, bagels, and reheating everying from pizza to cheese sticks. I can't even begin to estimate how much money we save by not having to use the oven for such simple things; especially in the summer when competing with the air conditioner! The TRO390W has one small annoyance, and that is the toaster browning feature. It has a setting for light, medium, and dark, but they really aren't functional settings. The timer won't stay on unless it's set to dark, and then you have burnt toast. We have found that you have to use the continuous stay on feature and set the timer on the stove for 2-3 minutes. If you forget to do this, then you have burned toast, bread, or waffles. Upside, if you DO remember to set the timer, the frozen waffles are perfect every time. We eat a lot of frozen waffles, and it's crucial that they not be burnt on the edges and soggy in the middle. In short, totally worth the money for this unit. You just need to be prepared to use a separate timer for bread products.
