Black & Decker Steam Advantage, F1000 —

We chose the Black & Decker Steam Advantage MAX portable iron almost four years ago because it had a lot of features, such as multiple steam settings and bursts of steam, and because it was lightweight compared to others that also offered a lot of features. I have never burned anything and the stainless steel sole plate is as shinny as when it was new. I prefer this to the tefflon sole plates that I have had in the past that I managed to scratch with buttons and zippers over the years. I have dropped it a couple of times, and luckily, nothing happened. Fortunately, it took a tumble off of the ironing board onto a carpeted surface. But, I would atest to the durability of this iron as I have managed to drop it off of the ironing board twice in four years and it is still working just fine. It's not cordless, but it has a flexable rubber cord-minder on the end that keeps the cord up a little bit and out of my way while I am ironing. You would not think that a little rubber sleeve (no more than 2-inches) would be such a plus-feature, but it is.
