My Black & Decker Rice Cooker Plus not only makes great rice but also steams veggies like a pro. I have steam from different veggies to won-tons and everything steams so nice that it makes you want to steam everything. The Black & Decker Rice Cooker Plus also makes perfect rice every time. No matter what kind of rice you decide to cook the directions let you know how much rice to water. My husband likes for me to cook white rice then add sugar and milk. I personally do not like it but I love just the white rice with stir fry veggies. The wonton's that I make are great just add water...
read full review »At first I was dubious when my husband bought me a Black and Decker product, namely, one of their coffee grinders. I was used to thinking that their products were mainly meant for men. I was so taken with the quality and durability (it has now been running flawlessly and faithfully for three years) that the next small appliance that we needed I insisted be a Black and Decker. I was not dissapointed. The rice cooker we got has several great features, namely the ones I like best are the see through lid I love keeping an eye on food without letting all the heat out), the non-stick surface (that...
read full review »I was given this Black & Decker Rice Cooker Plus as a birthday gift almost a year ago and I don't remember what my life was like before I had it! It is super easy to use and comes with a fabulous steamy tray to use while you're cooking your rice. It is great for veggies, and though I have not used it myself for meat, have heard from friends that it works fabulously!
I usually use jasmine rice from a bulk bag, not a box, but I know it has worked very well with a variety of rices.
If you eat rice frequently or are looking to eat a little more healthily, this is a great way to do it! It is a wonderful...
read full review »I am very happy with this rice cooker, I do not know why I wait so long to buy one but I am glad I did. This is a very fast and simple way to cook rice even for soup, stew and steam vegetables. It is really awesome. You can have firm or fluffy rice without having to be watching the pot and stirring. Once it finished to cook the rice it keep it warm automatically until you and yours are ready to eat. The cooking bowl is easy to remove and you can easily can take to the table and serve from it. In about twenty minutes you can have your rice while you getting ready other side to complete your meal....
read full review »I love rice. I will always eat it, but that does not mean I do not notice the difference between good, well-cooked rice and not. Growing up, we always had rice that was cooked on the stove, but since coming out here to college, I have learned of the beneftis of rice-cookers. This rice cooker is no exception. It is fast, easy, and convenient. You can leave it on warm for some time, while you are out for instance. It does dry the rice out a bit, but that works if you had extra water in it already.
The thing about this rice cooker though, is that it may leave a kind of film on the bottom of your rice...
read full review »I love this rice cooker and use it at least twice a week. It's fast, convenient, cleans up really well and makes my rice perfectly! I haven't had occasion to use the steamer basket part of the machine, but I'd imagine it works as well as the rice cooker portion. This rice cooker has made my life easier- one less pot to have on the stove, no attention needs to be paid to it once it's on, and the rice tastes terrific and is never over or under done. LOVE IT! Highly recommended!
We have the 3c rice maker. While clean-up is a breeze, during the cooking process it sputtered water all over the counter :-( Being a neat-freak I was not a happy camper
