Cordless and really enough battery power to clip all my shrubs.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My Black & Decker cordless hedge trimmer has been one of the best purchases I have made for the garden. Its battery is interchangeable with some other B&D tools that I own which allows me to always have a fresh battery charging. Rarely have I needed to change batteries before the job is done though. It clips cleanly and easily and performs better than I could have imagined a cordless hedge trimmer would do.  I have owned corded hedge trimmers for many years and the cord was always getting in the way and needing to be untangled. My only complaint is it is a little heavier than I would like, but everything is heavier than I would like at my age!

Lightweight, great for small to medium yards

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Didn't want to spend the money for a gas trimmer that leaves me smelling like gas fumes and mixing oil/gas. This was a great alternative because it was cordless and running on battery packs. Granted the battery really only lasts about 20 minutes when running continuously, but the unit came with 2 batteries. Keep them both charged and you can swap the battery and finish up the job for a small to medium yard. Does great at edging the walkway/driveway/landscape border with the simple twist of the head. Happy with the performance as it's proven to be helpful in my weekly maintenance of the yard. Don't think this can handle thick grass, but then again I'm not sure a gas trimmer would be any more beneficial. Great lightweight product that saves money on gas and easy to maintain.

The black and Decker electric hedge trimmer does the job year in

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

The Black and Decker electric hedger trimmer is a piece of equipment that I have used for two decades . When it comes to reasonably priced dependable hedge trimmers , Black and Decker is a leader . They know what the average weekend do -it -your -selfer needs. The ease of use and the professional results are easily achieved without too much time invested. However , as with all cutting equipment, safety is of prime importance. Always be careful and aware of your immediate work area. And watch out that you don't accidentally cut the power cord. To avoid this, I have sincr purchased , and now use the Black and Decker cordless hedge trimmer. It is great! No more cords to worry about. It is lighter and easier to maneuver without sacrificing neatness. Keep up the great work Black and Decker!

Another handy Black and Decker yard tool.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Black and Decker 18 volt Cordless trimmer is another handy yard tool in a line of 18 volt rechargables. My wife really likes this one because it is very light weight and easy to operate. There is no cord to get tangled up in or trip on. There are no restrictions due to the length of a cord. It came with an extra battery pack, a charger and a full spool of string. The spool that comes with it is tap free. You can buy refills of the tap free but I find it to be cheaper if you buy the string refills and wind it up yourself. It isn't tap free if you do, so you will have to manually open the spool and feed more line through. My wife says that is not a big deal. It's w...

Wouldn't be a trim without the Black & Decker Cordless Trimmer.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I purchased the Black & Decker 18-volt Cordless Trimmer for my husband and father on on Father's Day, and they love it more than they dislike the little flaws the trimmer has. It's so very convient. Both my husband and father really love the fact that the Black & Decker Trimmer is cordless!! They can maneuver around the front and back yard with the Trimmer. They don't have to worry about getting tangled with the wire, or having to worry that the wire might get in the way. The Black & Decker starts out strong and leaves a smooth and even trim. It's like the ropes stays really sharp even trimming the thickest grass, weeds, and lawn. The thing with the trimmer is that the life on the battery is weak. My husband and father has mention about always having to recharge after using the trimmer. The cleaning was not much of a hassle either, it's just the battery power. The overall result of the Black & Decker 18-volt Cordless Trimmer is 4 out of five. Lots of power and it's cordless!!

Black and Decker cordless trimmer has short life span

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

The Black and Decker 18v Cordless Trimmer, is nothing but mediocre. Its suffers the same setbacks that all cordless appliances share, an untimely cutting out of the battery. I have a fairly large lawn and need to cover a large area. Cordless is ideal for this, due to the fact that I don't want to have five extension cords tied together. But if the actual appliance cuts out on me in the middle of my work, then how am i supposed to get anything done? The battery lasts only about 18 minutes tops, i timed it. The actual trimmer uses quite a bit a battery power causing the comparativley small battery to be drained rather quickly. Other than the battery, this is your average trimmer. IT cuts most ...

Finally, a lightweight adjustable trimmer for shorter people!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My Black & Decker 18-volt cordless trimmer is perfectly sized.  I am 5'3" and have found most trimmers are just too long and too heavy and I drag them.  This trimmer is adjustable and very light weight so I can easily swing it.  My mom who is 84 and only 5' tall uses it also.  Changing the trimmer string is simple, as is changing the battery.  My only issue with the trimmer is battery life.  The trimmer cuts cleanly on a fully charged battery, but it doesn't last very long, then I have to change the battery.  The trimmer comes with 2 batteries but if you have any amount of trimming to do you will need more than 2.   Fortunately, several of our cordless tools are Black & Decker and use the 18 volt battery and the batteries are interchangeable with any 18 volt Black & Decker tool.  I love being able to trim around my gardens when I want it done and my husband is very happy about that also!

If you want lightweight and convenience, this is a must need

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I've always been annoyed with the trimmers that had cords and the awful smelling exhaust that the gasoline powered trimmers give off.  This cordless trimmer is the ideal replacement if you have an average yard.  If you have a larger than average yard, you may get annoyed with its limited battery life, but this is easily solved since usually this product comes with an extra battery.  Other advantages to this product include :

  1. It is lightweight and the length is changeable so even your kids can use it!

  2. Is able to easily cut through my crab grass.  I've even used it on my tougher weeds!

Overall, I recommend this product for the typical amateur gardeners.

This is the perfect trimmer.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

After years of fighting with and tripping over long, cumbersome extension cords, we finally decided to upgrade to a cordless trimmer.  We wanted something that had decent battery life but since we live in town and do not have a huge yard it did not need to be major heavy duty.  We also wanted it to be well balanced and fairly light since our son would be using it quite a bit.

We found the Black and Deck 18v Cordless Trimmer at Home Depot for just under $100. We have been very happy with it - it is easy to handle and comfortable to use. It cuts through anything we have used it on and it is very easy to adjust the length and the end - which converts if you want to use it for edging....

Black and deck the wires, as this trimmer is cordless!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Black & Decker 18-volt Cordless Trimmer 18v Nst2018 is a lightweight product, it's cordless, meaning no tripping and falling down, and has no emissions. ** **it takes a long time to charge, it uses nicd batteries, and has a short run time. as a homeowner, this product saves me time and energy, and our grass comes out complete. This is a very good product for homeowners, and runs for about a hundred and fifty bucks.

Must Have Trimmer

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Once you own this you will not want to do without it.  I own it and love it.  You don't have to worry about cords getting in it and having to buy new cords everytime you use an electric one.  It trims easily, easy to handle and leaving your job with a very nice appearance not to mention that Black and Decker are quality, dependable products.  It has saved me a lot of time as you can maneuver it well thus getting your job done a lot quicker.  I love mine and don't plan on doing without one.  Also, I have never had any problems with it, never needed repairs, etc.  I highly recommend it.

My yard look wonderful with my Black & Decker Cordless Trimmer

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We just bought the Black & Decker Cordless Trimmer for our new house and could not be happier. We have a HOA, so needless to say, we have stick guidelines to follow. It easy to use and does a great job!

perfect for our small but unruly yard!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This trimmer has been great!  It is light and easy to use, you just pop the battery in the back and you are ready to go.  It easily tackles the tough weeds that constantly sneak through our fence without damaging the fence or side of the house.  I'm only 5'1' and it's easy enough for me to handle without any trouble.  In fact, its so convenient I've actually used it as a replacement for our lawn mower (we have a very small yard), when I don't feel like dragging a bulky mower out.

Our last trimmer was gas powered and was so smelly and disgusting I felt like I needed a hazmat suit to do any yard work, this one is so clean I feel comfortable letting my kids play in th...

black & decker gets the job done

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The black & Decker cordless trimmer is just what the chiropractor ordered.  At 50 years old with a bad back I thought my days of landscaping were over.  This cordless trimmer does all the work of my old electric one and weighs about 1/3 the amount.

The cordless trimmer is worth every penny and then some.  I have been using mine in the Bulls Shoals Lake area of Arkansas.  The string has an auto feed so everytime I hit a rock (and they don't call this area of Arkansas, rockansas for nothing) I do not need to tap it on the ground.

This trimmer has gone through patches of nut grass 3 feet high with little trouble.  I have been able to take down woody stemed weeds with no problems.

All my friends laughed at me when I first bought it.  As people came to visit I let them all try it.  Everyone of them either now owns one or is thinking of purchasing one.

Very Light-weight

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

The Black and Decker Cordless Trimmer was actually given to me as a gift. It is nice and light-weight and I love the feature that it has automatic string loader. However, it probably would not be one I would have picked for myself.

Although, light-weight the battery pack does not seem to stay charged for very long and it only came with one battery. Would have been more beneficial had it also included an additional battery, so that one could be charging while using the other. Because it does not have this feature, I find it rather annoying that once the battery runs out, I have to wait another hour or so for the one and only one to recharge.

The cost for another battery is very expensive as I have looked into buying a second battery.  However, when it is fully charged it does a great job!
