Easy to handle and use the Grass Hog is not intimidating at all. Super easy to start and uses for small jobs or cleaning up spots. The battery life is 20 min max so that's a little too short for my liking.
...

I highly recommend this 18V Black and Decker Grasshog Cordless Edger and Trimmer for those individuals who do not want to deal with running to the store for gasoline, changing oil,or working around a long extension cord. This trimmer is highly reliable and relatively lightweight. With charged batteries you can squeeze the trigger and get right to work!! With simple turns to the head of the trimmer you can professionally edge sidewalks or trim around fences, garden edges, and beds. I highly recommend that you keep cord replacements on hand as the cord has a potential to be used quickly when working on bigger jobs. I also recommend purchasing a FireStorm 2 battery recharger so that you will be able to easily complete most jobs when you have a home on a small lot. One battery and charger typically comes with the trimmer but I have found that I will need two batteries to complete my jobs. Once you hear the trimmer starting to sound as if doesn't have enough power and is not trimming your...
...

When I became responsible for the yard work after my husbands death I went looking for tools that I could start with out the tirering pulling forever of a cord and still not have the item start as it should. I was successful and found several cordless rechargable tools, from Black and Decker like a chain saw a garden cultivater a weedeater and also a lawn mower that is a Neuton product.. Each item to me is the best and certainly makes my yard work easy even plesant to do. The black and decker items have a battery that is rechargable and each charge usually last an hour which is the time I like to work and then take a rest. It is so easy to start just a click of the switch and you are off ready to do your job, No more fighting to get your weed eater saw etc going. Go search for the rechargable items and see for yourself. they are well worth the money. All items are very easy to clean up and keep clean after use. They are perfect for women who need to do yard work and would...
...

I just puchased this amazing product.I love my Black & Decker cordless Weed Eater. My son loves it too. That says alot because he hates to weed eat.I bought it & put it together in about 5 minutes. My son came over saw it ,grabbed it and went outside and started weedeating. That's so unusal for him because he hates any type of yard work.He said "Mom, I'm gonna have to borrow this".I really enjoy using this weed eater. It's so light weight and easy to use.I have a bigger weed eater that is much heavier, but this one does the job just as good. It's alot easier on me because I have a ruptured disc in my neck and can't hold anything heavy for too long without being in alot of pain.I used this and my neck didn't even hurt.I am so relieved to be able to have this on hand and go outside and use the weedeater when I want and don't have to wait on someone to come do it for me.I can trim my own flower beds and make sure only the weeds and grass are being cut not my flowers.I also like the fact that...
...

Tired of mixing oil and gas, I bought B&D Grasshog Electric Weedeater. Started off with string not self feeding problems. Then was way under powered - trouble cutting anything that wasn't short grass. Finally once original string ran out and I replaced it - now it wont stop feeding and string flys out in about two seconds. Followed manual instructions - even purchased new spool already strung with string just to make sure I had done it right - same problem with new spool.

I purchased the Black and Decker cordless grass hog just 6 weeks ago. The spool ran fine, until it approached the end when it went flying loose. Yes, I have the newer orange capped model.

I replaced the line today, but the Automatic Feed System won't stop feeding! I went through the whole replacement - trying to get it to work properly and then, when I thought it was ok, the rest ran out in about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, the owner's manual is grossly inadequate and on line assistance doesn't seem to really exist on the Black and Decker site.

I doubt I will buy another black and decker cordless product. In addition to the spool issues, the guard has already cracked the screw housing on the body where it attaches and I'm out $$$

The Black and Decker Weed trimmer does exactly what it was designed to do. If anyone has ever owned "Anything" that ran on batteries, they should know that batteries go dead with use. Duh!. When I saw this product in the store and considering the strain the intended job would be on a small 18 volt battery, I knew the charge life would be small (common sense). I was very excited about having a tool that would Trim the Grass without yanking a rope till I drop or electrocuting myself. The Black and Decker Weed Trimmer was perfect. After reading all the crying about the battery only lasting 15-20 minutes from people who were trying to trim Hay fields on a battery powered tool, I ran back to the store and snapped it up. It has been wonderful for Trimming around the house, trees, mailbox etc. just as it was INTENDED to do. I would buy this item again and again.
...

Wonderful, this product is lightweight, easy to use and powerful. I have a large yard and garden area with many fences and paths. This trimmer got me through all of it. What I liked best was the auto feed string line, no more bumping and pulling. The noise is so much better than my old gas trimmer and this is so much greener as well. I had to change the battery in order to finish my whole yard but the charge lasts about 20 minutes so this would be grat for small yards or small areas. It comes with two batteries and you can purchase extra ones. It also works with other Black and Decker products so that is an added benefit....

I just recently ordered my 18 volt Black and Decker Grass Hog online. I have two other 18 volt Black and Decker tools and I've had good experiences with them, so I was pretty confident about ordering this online. It's very light weight and easy to use. The batteries between the 18 volt tools are interchangeable, so I could use the batteries that came with my other tools to extend the time. The Black and decker cordless tools are all so simple to use. You just click the battery into place. Push a button and off you go. No gas or pulling a string to start. The only downside is of course, having to recharge the batteries and work within the time they give you, but hey! It's so convenient and easy to use! My Grass Hog came with two batteries, which normally cost about $35 a piece if you buy them by themselves. The total price I paid was only $99 including shipping. It's much more powerful than I expected and even gets thin blackberry vines. The batteries last about 15 minutes a piece with this......

The Black & Decker Grass Hog Cordless Trimmer has saved the day! Well, at least for me. I used to try to trim the areas around my driveway and drainage ditch with a very small push mower, but I'm not very strong and I could never get it to look neat. With the lightweight cordless Grass Hog, I can trim at all angles and get in those tight spots and the almost totally vertical areas. There are many other areas where the flexibility of the Grass Hog is useful, but the difference maker is that nasty drainage ditch. ...

about 5000 sq foot yard (front, back & side) and for years I drug a 100 foot orange power cord from the garage plus to as far it anything would reach into the front yard where I move the cord into the dining room plug. Then the Black & Decker edger that screams when you use it. So it was 2007, a new idea from Black & Decker per their email with 18 volt outdoor landscaping tools.

So to Lowes we go in April & bought this string trimmer which the box shows edging, trimming around flag poles, neighbor's fence & garden walls. 2 18 volt batteries with charger & the trimmer for $99. SO we bought it. I charged the battery overnnight & next morning I am out & edging the lawn, done in under 30 minutes, with clean lines in the yard. Then I have the old Black & Decker blower with leave sucking bag attachment. The power isn't what it used to be in over 10 years, so back to Lowes to check out the Black & Decker 18 volt blower which they call a BROOM.
