I have the older model, 3 year old 12" 12v grasshog trimmer/edger, and it is excellent.  It is the model that recharges while hanging on the wall and I have had no problems with the charge life on it.  I live in town so my yard is not that big but I did work for a property manager and trimmed and edged 3 large yards before the battery died.  I would and have recommended this product to anyone.  I use it weekly, sometimes in the middle of summer it gets used twice a week and just today the string ran out.
