Black & Decker makes a cordless electric weed eater. It is small and lightweight, with all-plastic construction. It is easy to assemble and operate. The trimmer includes a charger and one spool of trimming line. Running the trimmer is easy to run, with a single-action trigger and no speed adjustment. If there is an upside to this trimmer, it is the light weight and ease of use. You could not ask for a simpler trimmer. After a charge, you just point it at the weeds and pull the trigger. There is no gas motor to lug around and no cord in which to get tangled. The drawbacks of this trimmer are numerous. The line is difficult to replace. At one point the trimmer was out of commission because the line kept retracting. The black plastic guard broke off. A full charge on the battery gets you maybe twenty minutes of trimming time. That is enough to do my front yard on a single charge, but not my back yard. It takes about 24 hours to recharge, so I can't trim the front and back yard on the same day. This is a small, low-power tool that would be best for a very small yard. This is a cheap trimmer that performs like you would expect for the price. If you have a large yard or any heavy-duty work, this is not the trimmer for you.
