Black & Decker Black and Decker Toast-R-Oven Broiler —

The Black and Decker Classic Line toaster oven needs a little help to be truly efficient.  The basic design does allow for two shelf positions, but it is hard to get the toast toe be done to the same darkness on both sides.  If the top is brown the bottom is often un-toasted.

The Black and Decker does have a crumb tray but it is all but impossible to empty the crumbs out.  The tray that receives the crumbs is connected to the back of the unit by a hinge.  There is no tray that can be removed or slide out of the toaster oven.  As a result, if one wishes to remove the crumbs, it is necessary to unplug the oven. lift up the whole oven, carry it to the sink or garbage receptical, open the bottom crumb tray and then shake the whole oven.  And, of course, the crumbs never fall out completely.  So then it is necessary to dust them out with either your bare and or reach in side with a rag or sponge.  The engineers who designed this unit never tried to clean it.
