Black & Decker 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker (Model DLX1050W) Review

WOW!!  I've never had a coffee maker that actually makes the coffee for me!  This is a brand new luxury for me and I am loving it!

My old coffee maker finally died.  It was just a very basic coffee maker that did nothing special.  So, to replace it, I went shopping looking for one that wouldn't cost me over $ 20.00.  Well.......the price of these things have come waaaaaayyyy down since I shopped last!  I got myself a Black & Decker 12-cup programable coffee maker!  I could not believe the price was only $ 18.00!  That is an awesome deal.

When I got the coffee maker home, I thought it may be a little hard to figure out.  There were several buttons on the front and I was expecting something complicated.  Nope!  It was very simple to set up.  Just set the time of day (yes, there is a digital clock too), hit one button to program the time that I want the coffee to brew, and that was it.  I was through in less than a minute.

Black & Decker's coffee maker looks great on my counter.  It's makes a lot more coffee at a time than my old one, but it doesn't take up any extra room.  It has a really great feature that allows you to "steal a cup" of coffee as it brews.  When I can't wait for it to finish brewing, I just slide out the carafe and pour my cup.  In the meantime, there is no leaking out of the coffee maker. 

I can make up to twelve cups of coffee at a time.  There is a clear window on the side of the machine that allows me to see exactly how much water is inside the reservoir.  I like that because I've noticed that even though you may think you're putting in eight cups of water, it doesn't always register that same amount once the coffee brews.  But this coffee maker makes exactly the amount I want.  I love that!

The carafe and brew basket are dishwasher safe, so it makes cleaning up a breeze.  I just wipe the reservoir down, and throw the rest in the dishwasher.  I love appliances that make my life this easy!
