Black Hawk Down (2001)
Based on the book by Mark Bowden, Ridley Scott’s movie is faithful to the spirit of the book, however, in the interest of brevity he had to whittle down the speaking parts as Bowden's book singled out over 100 individuals which would have made the movie very confusing. Scott rolled those personalities into a half dozen characters, capturing the flavor without making the movie excessively long.
