Black & Decker Toast-R-Oven

When our GE 2 Slice Bagel Toaster stopped toasting on one side and now became useless to me, my husband came home with a Black & Decker Toast-R-Oven.  I wasn't all that thrilled as I like to be a minimalist as far as appliances sitting out on my counter and unlike the small toaster, this wasn't an appliance that could be put away daily.

Despite the space the Black & Decker Toast-R-Oven takes up on my counter, I have come to appreciate some advantages of housing this toaster oven on my counter.

-I can heat a variety of breads on both sides.  It works well for small crustinis or thick sandwich breads that are nightmares in a traditional pop up toaster.

-For some reason, maybe because it is eye level and has the added advantage fo making the ticking sound, I seem less likely to forget about and burn bread.

-It has a 9 inch pizza capacity which I haven't tested because a 9 inch pizza at my house would be a snack but it does work very well for heating up left over slices of pizza and I don't have to a) wait for the oven to preheat or b) try the microwave which ruins left over pizza.

-It's perfect for open-faced cheese breads or heating up to four frozen waffles.

-It's easy to clean.  Unlike my pop up toaster, the tray actually does easily slide out with out creating a crumb explosion all over my counter.

The Black & Decker Toast-R-Oven has three dials:

Bake/Broil, Bake Timer and Toast Setting.

It's so easy to use that young children and even husbands can use it! I think it would be a helpful product for the elderly or disabled that have a hard time bending and lifting in and out of a traditional oven.

I don't have a toaster oven. DId once upon a time but since it was never used sold it. I guess I just didn't know the right ways. Now that I have quick things to "bake" for the kids I wish I still had it. great review

This looks similar to my B&D countertop convection toaster oven. I can relate to having appliances out on my counter. I keep my toaster put away but unfortunately, like you, this thing has to stay out. But I do use mine quite a bit!
