I had the Black & Decker Sweet Hearts Waffle Maker for a number of years before I accidentally broke it while moving. To be honest, I first purchased it because of the cute heart shapes. I really liked using it for special occasions because the heart shapes made things more unique and interesting. This is a simple little appliance to use. You simply allow it to heat up and pour your batter in. It took me a few attempts to get the proper amount of batter figured out. The waffles come out cooked evenly and taste yummy! I am not sure if they still sell this maker, but if they do, I highly recommend it. Performance Cooks waffles perfectly and evenly. Settings/Features There are not many settings or features, which I like. It makes using this little appliance simple. Ease of Cleaning There is a nonstick coating which makes cleaning easy. I did notice over the years that the coating began to come off which made the waffles stick a little more. Ease of Use You simply allow it to heat up then pour your batter in, Durability I had this waffle maker for many years but broke it while I was moving. It was very durable but not when it falls from a 2nd story ledge! I bet it would still be working fine if I had not of dropped it.

I have been using my waffle maker for over 10 years. I love this! I can make different colors, flavors, & designs, like four leaf clovers, if I'm careful with making the fifth heart into a stem. The hearts cut apart easily, so make many smaller waffles for the little ones. So much better than the ones you pull out of the freezer & pop in the toaster! Wouldn't give up my waffle maker for anything! ♥ Performance As long as you pay attention, this waffle iron makes perfect waffles every time! And make sure you use enough batter as well, so you have full hearts. Because there's 5 hearts, if you're careful, you could make the fifth heart into a stem to make four leaf clovers for St. Patrick's Day. It can also make seamless waffles if you make multi-colored waffles as well. ♥ Settings/Features Just plug it in & you're on your way to heart shaped waffles! ♥ Ease of Cleaning Just wipe it down. That's it! Use a cleaner on the outside, & if you use it on the iron part, wash it down with water. Easy! ♥ Ease of Use Nothing could be easier! Let it heat up, pour on the batter, close the lid, & wait about 3 minutes. What could be easier? ♥ Durability Still holding up after 10 years! ♥

My husband is Swedish and they have a huge waffle culture. So we often make waffles to serve with ice cream, jam and whipped cream. We bought the Black & Decker Sweet Hearts Waffle Maker because my daughters begged us for it when they saw that it made heart shaped waffles. But the cute heart shape is not the only reason we love this waffle maker. It is inexpensive, well built, sturdy and very easy to clean. It has a non stick surface that makes it easy to pop the waffles out of it once they have been cooked to the perfect delicious crispiness. It heats evenly and produces nicely browned and crisp waffles. This machine is very easy to use. it makes five heart shaped waffles at a time, which is nice for a large family. It looks nice sitting on the counter and can be conveniently stored away in a cabinet when not in use. Overall, this is a great little machine. My 4 year old says they are heart shaped because we make them with love. Who can argue with that?

Received this as a wedding present 22 years ago. Today sadly it made it's last waffle .. My wife and I are delighted that this wedding gift has outlasted all others by several years. I will be sure to check out Black & Decker for a replacement!! Thanks for such a great product!

I've been using the Black & Decker Sweetheart Waffle Maker for years. I registered for it when I got married and every time I use it, I think of Mrs. G, who bought it for me. I was so excited to receive this item as a gift and I still use it 15 years later. The Sweetheart Waffle Maker heats up quickly. When it comes up to full temperature, it makes a tweeting sound like a sick bird. Kind of annoying, but nice to know when it's fully heated and ready to use. It has a non-stick coating, but I use a short burst of cooking spray just the same to make sure nothing sticks. It makes one round waffle that breaks into 4 heart-shaped waffles. When the waffles are fully cooked, the waffle maker tweets again to let you know that it's time to remove it and make another. And you can immediately make another right away without having to wait for it to come back up to full heat. We've since bought a Belgian waffle maker (my husband wanted it) but I've held onto my Black & Decker Sweetheart model as it makes thinner waffles than the Belgian and I just love the heart shapes. It's a girl thing. So why only four stars? Because the waffles get slightly too crispy for my liking when I let it cook til it tweets. I wish there was a way to regulate the cook time or crispness/darkness like one can with a toaster. Settings/Features There really are no settings and features though.You just plug it in and it comes up to temperature and beeps when it's ready. Durability I've had this waffle maker for almost 18 years now!

When our last waffle maker bit the dust a few months ago, it was right around Valentine's Day so, of course, all the local stores seemed to be carrying nothing cost effective but the heart shaped models of waffle makers. The Black & Decker model seemed like the best buy for the money and boy was it ever. Even though having perenially heart shaped waffles had to grow on me a bit, I'll admit, that I now fully enjoy all aspects of this waffle maker! It works wonderfully and cleans super easily. But best of all, it was budget friendly for a high quality product that got me back to making waffles at home again. I am one of those people that just can't stand to buy frozen waffles, so making things such as this fresh is very important to me.

We got this waffle maker for our wedding 15 years ago; it is still going strong.  We aren't the kind of people who collect appliances that do "only one function;" multi-functional items are much preferred, but if one likes waffles, unfortunately, this is the type of item that only does that one function!  As far as waffle makers go, this one's a gem.  We use it every week, and it has never let us down.  It's really a no-brainer:  heat it up, chirps when ready (along with light going off), pour on batter, let it sit, wait for the chirp, breakfast!  Of course, the very best feature is the heart shape of the waffles; when hubby makes them, they're romantic to have served to me on a plate.  :)  We have had another type of maker (given a couple years after we got this one), and it had neither a light nor a chirp to signal when the waffles were done/ready, so we appreciated this one even more.  I'm not sure how this one would compare to other waffle makers, but it does everything we've ever asked -- or needed it -- to do.
