This is not the best iron, but it was useful in a pinch.

3

We just bought this iron. I was sent out of town on a business trip last minute and had little time to get here. I was called and asked to make a four hour drive in six hours which only gave me minimal time to pack, clean up, lock up, and be prepared for a weeks worth of audit reporting. When we arrived, the hotel informed us that they only carry ironing mats and do not offer ironing boards. My boyfriend ran out and grabbed an iron at a local retailer and this is the one he bought. I am not overly impressed with it. On the positive side, this iron is not very heavy. It is light and easy to use. It is effective enough. I am using the ironing mat while I am here because no boards are available but when I place the mat on a desktop, this iron gets most of the wrinkles out. It takes a little longer to use, but in a pinch it has been okay. On the down side, this iron is taking a long time to use. It takes a while to heat up. I feel like I waited twenty minutes for the iron to get hot. The iron doesn't want to smooth out wrinkles around the pleats of my pants. I have to keep going over it. The iron is also corded and the cord doesn't swivel so I keep getting tangled and twisted. This iron also doesn't hold much water so I have to keep refilling it. Additionally the heat settings aren't very effective. This iron seems to keep a continual heat.

I have been using this iron for quite some time now & am really impressed with it. The steam feature works well & gets the wrinkles out effectively. I bought the iron because I like Black and Decker products. This is another of their products that lives up to my expectations. I am very pleased with the performance and the price is very reasonable. Performance I am very pleased with the ability of this iron to get wrinkles out. It performs exceptionally at a moderate price. Ease of Cleaning I have never had to clean my iron. It looks just like it did on the day I bought it. Ease of Use This iron heats up very quickly and is very easy to use. The heat settings are also very accurate, so I have never burned any of my items. Durability My iron is not showing any signs of wear even after several months of very heavy use. Design I am very pleased with the design of this iron. The design makes it easy to use on many different types of garments.

Great basic iron!

5

This is a great basic iron for any normal household. Holds up well use after use, I have used it for crafting, and every day ironing. Gets the job done and does it well. I do not have to worry about it damaging my clothing. Performance No complaints, works well on all types of fabric, gentle enough for lighter ones and heavy enough for thicker ones. Safety Has a great automatic shut off feature, doesn't seem to get to hot, never have burned myself with it. cord is securely attached and plug is well made. I say this because I've had other irons that fray quickly. Ease of Cleaning Easy to clean but for me doesn't really need it. Holds up well after each use. Ease of Use couldn't be easier, follow directions for heat settings and steam and away you go, iron to your heart's content. Durability Overall, very durable, unless you drop it on tile, that caused the ceramic plate to crack and break, my fault, no the iron. Design Design is sleek and simple, appreciate the basic design of it, no complaints! Looks nice and not too bulky.

Good quality iron.

I don't iron too much but when I do I iron my husbands uniforms and does a good job. Easy to use and gets rid of crinkles and creases. No complaints about it and I've had it for over a year. Recommend it to anyone.

A great iron!

I have had no problems with this iron. The only thing to watch for is having the heat up enough otherwise instead of being steam, the water will drip out everywhere. No outstanding features, but a great iron for everyday use.

Good iron for the price.

I have to admit that I don't expect much out of my iron. I don't iron my clothes on a regular basis, so I figured that I should buy one that was very inexensive. This is just that. Inexpensive without being too cheaply made, but gets the job done. I enjoy the steam option. I know that others have had problems with this model, but for what I need it for, it's perfect. Performance Isn't the best iron out there, but does the job. Safety I haven't had any safety issues yet. Ease of Cleaning I have never had to do much to keep this iron clean. Ease of Use Just pour in the water, plug in and a few minutes later you're ready to iron. Durability I know that I didn't pay much for this product, and you can tell, but it's not too cheaply made. Design The design is what I'd expect out of a similarly priced model.

Could be better

We have had so many irons over the 30 plus years of marriage. This is the one appliance that we have had to replace the most. Sometimes we bought what we thought were very good irons given the cost and other times we went cheap. This was one the irons where we went cheap. It does an ok job, but that is about the best I can say about it. It does have auto shutoff that came in handy a couple ot times and it does have a really long cord. If you have heavy duty ironing to do, this is not the iron for you.

Black & Decker Home Steam Advantage Iron is the best!

4

The Black & Decker Home Steam Advantage Iron is the best iron I have ever used. The features of this iron are endless. It has a front spray nozzle, fabric select dial with led display, steam surge, extra large water tank, Auto clean, ceramic sole plate, 360 degree pivoting cord (extra long), and an auto shut of feature. I have used this iron on several different types of fabric and I love the fact that it works flawlessly on all of them. I have used iron on patches with this iron as well with no problems. It is comfortable to use because it has a comfort handle and it automaticly shuts of if not used or left alone too long. Fire hazard avoided! This iron comes with a handy little measuring pourer to help get the water in the extra large water tank and settings for synthetic material, silk, rayon, wool, and cotton. The light up screen is a great help. The only down side to this iron is that the water fill hole is slightly on the smaller side, but the pourer has a little spout container that works well.

Black and Decker F1000 Steam Advantage is a great iron!

I hate ironing..does anyone like it really? Ok maybe a few people find it relaxing..not me! I need it to be quick, work well and leave my clothes looking great! This Black and Decker F1000 Steam Advantage Iron really works well. It heats up quick and gets the job done fast. It is lightweight and not hard to hold. I have arthritis and I can't have an iron that weighs a ton and my wife cannot either. This model is super light and had great features that make ironing easy. i have alot of work shirts so I try to not have my wife do them al, so i needed an iron that would suite us both. She wanted alot of steam power and that was important to me as well. We sometimes take turns doing the ironing to make it a little more fair. I'm glad we have Black and Decker Steam Advantage Iron to mae our lives a little easier! The cord legnth is great to. Our last iron had too short of an iron cord..which can be cumbersome. This a a great iron from a great company. Black and Decker is a quality company!

The Black & Decker Steam Advantage Iron is amazing!

We have owned the Black & Decker Steam Advantage Iron for a couple of years and have had absolutely no problems with it. We use this iron on military uniforms as well as crafting projects(which can tend to be tricky to iron since they are a little more fragile than clothes usually are). With every project or clothing item that we have used this iron on, we have gotten clean fresh iron lines and have never had to worry about the iron being so hot that it burns the fabric. This iron also has an auto-shut-off for when it has been left on(sometimes accidentally) for too long of a time. It is super easy to get the iron to heat back up after it has shut off like this as you just have to run the irion across the fabric a couple of times and it will automatically start to heat up again. I have no complaints at all with this iron and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great iron to keep in their house!
