Overall, reviewers aren't very happy after they purchase a Black & Decker Spacemaker Coffee Maker - ODC440B 12-Cup, enough so that some refer to it as 'Spacejunk." While it does as promised and saves counter space, it doesn't seem to live up to the good brand name of Black & Decker. Users of the Spacemaker Coffee Maker experienced many problems, such as water leaking from the base and coffee leaking from the carafe when poured. It also seems to lack durability with one lasting just four weeks before it died, and another that "stopped taking all 12 cups of water out of the reservoir" after less than two months of use. Reviewers being brand-conscious, they are promising that when they need another small appliance they will "be looking for another brand.

It made its last pot this morning, and then died. Dead as a door nail. I had it plugged into a GFCI outlet, which hadn't tripped. I installed it per the instructions (installation was pretty straightforward and easy to level out, I have to admit that). And you can't open the thing...

So my husband would stop at Goodwill to see if they had one part just to keep ours going. Then the clock went out on it. So he bought one of those timer things that goes into the outlet to turn on and off. Which that clicking noise got to me. Late last year I finally found they started to make them again. This time though, you could pour yourself a couple of coffee before it's done brewing. Such a nice feature. Free's up space, so the...
