I bought this new and it quit working before I had gone through one 500g bag of beans. Used it about 5 times and it quit.

I wanted to see if fresh, meaning grinding the beans myself really made any difference in the taste of my coffee. First I could smell a difference in the coffee but it was the aroma that really got my attention. There are a lot coffee grinders to choose from but I went for one of the least expensive as I figured it would be another one of those wonder gadget that I buy and it gets pitched out before long.I really love this little gadget. I love the aroma but when that coffee is perking it makes me think I am in a expensive coffee shop. It is easy to use. I didn't even have to read the instruction manual and the best part is how easy it is to clean up and because it is small, I can tuck it in any cabinet and it's there waiting to make me the best cup of coffee around. I did try grinding some extra to use at a later time. I would not really recommend that as it seems to lose some of that freshness and flavor that I was looking for.

I am not a big fan of this coffee grinder. It does not adequately grind the coffee as well I thought it would. Black & Decker usually has great products that are extremely effective, however this grinder leaves much to be desired. I would only recommend because of the brand.

OK I am so excited I finally get to review this product!! I got this as a gift about 2 months and never got around to using it until thanksgiving and wow you guys really need to get your hands on this! Buying fresh ground is great but in honeslty buying the beans and grinding them yourself makes it even more fresher! This things makes it super easy! You can get a lot crushed at once and then even store it for later! Its small so easy to travel with and store places. I'm buying on for my sister whos in grad school because this is a great gift for students as well! Another winner from Black and Decker!

I just love this product. It's so versatile,and I'mfinding more and more uses for it. Not only do I use it for grinding fresh coffee beans,but I use it to grind flax seeds. I grind i also use it to grind fresh herbs that are dried out,such as thyme,and cilantro. I'm very pleased with with my easy to store appliance.

We really like our *Black and Decker Coffee grinder.* It works great! We usually buy the bean coffee because i tastes fresher and our *Black and Decker Coffee Grinder* takes a linking but keeps on ticking. I like the way it looks with my other small black appliances on my countertops. Here is another use for this nifty little grinder that we use it for. You won't believe it. We grind whole wheat berries in it into cracked wheat for making cereal and for baking! So this great coffee grinder is actually used for that as well. It's tough and durable! I would definitly recommend this coffee grinder and whole wheat berry grinder to my friends and family for sure. For the price the *Black & Decker Coffee Grinder *can't be beat. It makes the coffee bean into powder in about 8 seconds. If you want a qaulity coffee grinder that works well and is cost effective, the *Black & Decker *is the one to buy. I give this a four star rating!

**Black & Decker SmartGrind Coffee Grinder CBG100W is an excellent buy! It's inexpensive and works like a charm. I bought one to see the difference fresh coffee beans would make and was very impressed with this little grinder. It's lightweight, easy to use, easy to clean and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I can't think of anything that is wrong with this grinder. I also think it would be great to chopping nuts and grinding spices, although you would have to keep them seperate. Again, I think the ****Black & Decker SmartGrind Coffee Grinder CBG100W is an excellent buy and you can't beat it for the expensive cost. I'm sure there are more fancy models available, but this one does the job and is worth every penny! **

I was very dissapointed by this cofee grinder. Usually Black and Decker makes what I would consider a decent quality item- a good quality for the price alternative for top of the line items... This coffee maker worked decently- not too many settings but enough to get the job done in a satifactory manner. Now, I'm usually pretty tough on coffee grinders, so I'm used to them breaking on a regular basis from droping them or using them excessively... this coffee grinder, however, didn't even make it that far. Three weeks in, with once a day use, proper care, and no dropping (Again, I mention this only because I am not graceful and usually my stuff gets dropped several times...), this coffee grinder abruptly broke on me. Just up and wouldn't grind anymore. It may look like a deal, but don't buy this grinder!

I was looking for a grinder to grind my herbs and I found this one on sale, so I thought I would give it a try.  It works well.  I have never used it for coffee beans as I can never seem to get that lingering coffee smell out of a coffee grinder.  I have a separate grinder for coffee.  This one is used purely for my herbs.  I am quite happy with it.  It is very easy to use, just put on the lid and press.  It grinds them evenly (with a little shaking of the grinder).  No problems with static electricity at all. It can handle both woody herbs, like lavender or rosemary, and tender ones, like thyme or parsley.  I even ground bean flour in it once, though I wouldn't recommend doing this very often as the motor made sounds in protest.  I have had it a little over a year and it is still working well.  It is a quiet, reliable grinder.  I like that the on-off switch is part of the lid.  I have read other reviews that complained about this feature, but i consider it a plus.  It is impossible to operate this grinder without the lid on.  Fingers safe, mess contained inside, I don't see the problem.

This black and decker coffee grinder literally gets the job done in seconds.  I have had coffee grinders before where the quality is not consistent, I would have grains that were very finely ground and then find a whole untouched bean floating somewhere in the mixture.  This is not the case at all.  The blades are good quality and have produced the same finel chopped product after years of use.  I also noticed that the grinds are not "fluffy".  This helps with measuring.  I put the same amound of grinds in the coffee pot that I would if it was a package of alreadyground coffee.  Most grinders it's some kind of a guessing game because the product isn't dense, not this one.  Measure out the coffee as you normally would.  The grinder is easy to use an clean, just one button to push to start pulsing the coffee.  The lid is easy to remove and the stainless steel pit is also very easy to clean.  I dup the grinds into the lid and then measure.
