I got one of these mixers as a gift for Christmas and was excited because I really wanted a new hand mixer for small projects so I would not have to get out my big stand mixer. I opened it up and plugged it in and turned it on and it started for two seconds, sparked, and stopped working. Immediately you could smell that burnt electrical smell so I knew it was done for. I took it back to the store and exchanged it for a new one and brought it home. I used this one without any problems for about two months. It was nice and worked well enough for the purposes I used it for, like making a batch of cookies or cupcakes. After those two months I went to use it one day while making some cookies and the same thing happened as before, it was fried and done. I called customer service and they were really no help and said it had to be my home that was the problem. Since then I have bought a different brand and have had it for over a year without a problem and my home has not made any other electronic fry.

I just got it a couple weeks ago as an early Christmas present. It is super easy to use. I love the multiple settings, but the low speed is not very slow. The high speeds are great. It whips potatoes in minutes. I have already used it to make several cake batters works great for that and for whipping the frosting. It makes everything smooth without lumps. The only other drawback is the beaters do not want to stay in the mixer. It works great when it is in the bowl, but when you are putting them in they fall out a lot. It is easy to eject the beaters, too. Mixing Performance It beats, whips, and mixes with ease. Ease of Cleaning The beaters easily wash clean and the mixer itself is simple to wipe clean. Ease of Use Mixer is very easy to operate with one hand and change speeds with just one finger. The cord for the mixer could also be a little longer. I have sockets that are not especially convenient and with the cord being stiff and on the short side it makes it hard to maneuver. Durability So far I am using it daily two or three times and it is working great. I have used it for cake mixes, cornbread, pancake mix, frosting, potatoes, and eggs.

I purchase the Black & Decker PowerPro Mixer a couple of years ago on Black Friday for about ten bucks to replace an acient sunbeam mixer that I got from my mother. Mixing Performance The Black & Decker PowerPro Mixer was great for mixing anything and everything. I made cakes, cookies, and even whipped cream with this mixer. It mixed the ingredients very well and never left unmixed streaks like my old mixer used to. Ease of Cleaning This mixer is very easy to clean. The beaters are large enough to get a sponge in the openings and you just need to wipe down the body of the machine with a damp cloth and your all set to go for the next time you use it. Ease of Use The PowerPro Mixer is very easy to use, it has a number dial that you can easily adjust to the speed you need and it even has a boost button if what ever your mixing is really tough or if you want to clean off the beaters. Design I loved the design of this mixer, it was very comfortable to hold and wasn't as heavy as some hand held mixers out there. Durability I've had my for about two years now and has held up great. However the last time I used my Black & Decker PowerPro Mixer it started to make a horrible grinding noise that came from inside the machine. I'm not sure what caused it but I haven't used it since.

I purchased the Black & Decker PowerPro Mixer when I was baking cakes and pies for my nephews and the holidays. This mixer is reasonably priced (fairly cheap actually). However, the quality seems a little lacking, but I guess you get what you pay for in this situation. I do wish the slowest speed was slower. Even on the lowest speed, this hand mixer goes too fast and makes a mess of any cake mixes. I ended up having to use a whisk on bowls of wet ingredients but still used this mixer for making whipped creams and to beat eggs. The mixer is comfortable to hold and easy to clean. I just wish it actually had a 'real' low speed so I could use it more often and with less mess in my kitchen. I would not recommend this product to a friend and would say invest in a higher quality model. Mixing Performance Needs slower speed.

Okay, the mixer does sound like a power tool, but it works like one, too. I have made many a cheesecake with this mixer (and a whole lot of other stuff). It really is a power tool for the kitchen. It's easy to use, sturdy, and easy to clean and reasonably priced. I have had mine for 15 years and it's still going strong. What more could you ask for?

I have used a Black and Decker hand mixer for all of my adult life (20 years).  It has been the best and only mixer I have ever used.  I have used this mixer for mashing potatoes, mixing pudding, and various other ingredients for cooking.  It has been through 3 moves with me and has held up through boxing up and moving.  The beaters have also held their own.  They have not rusted or broken.  I wash the beaters in the dishwasher which makes it much more convenient as I am a working mother.  The clean up is just as easy for the hand mixer.  I get a damp cloth and just wipe the actual mixer each and every time after each use. It has been a blessing for me to use.  I would recommend this product to any one.  It a great deal for the money.

I think that a hand mixer is an easy clean up item. I use this gadget every time I bake anything.  It saves a lot of room, for other gadgets, and come handy when you don't have enough room for a big mixer while cooking.  I feel that every household should have this gadget, because it has save space for me and it is an easy clean up item.

I wanted a mixer that was not too expensive so ended up getting this one. I use it mostly for mixing cake batter or making buttercream frosting and it works well for both. It is pretty comfortable to hold, and is lightweight and does not feel too heavy when I am using it. The mixer has five speeds and I like the powerboost feature that the mixer has. I like how easily the beaters insert and eject and the beaters and mixer itself are easy to clean. The last beaters I had rusted when I dishwashed them. I have put the beaters of this mixer in the dishwasher and they did not ruin which makes it easier to not have to handwash them. It mixes everything thoroughly which is most important to me so I would recommend this mixer.

The power cord is long enough to reach a good spot to use the Black and Decker Mixer comfortably and this mixer has a heel rest so that once you are done and have turned the mixer back to the 0 setting you can set the mixer on the heel rest on the bowl to allow any batter still on the mixer to drip back into the bowl.  This feature keeps you from losing any of your ingredients.

I don't cook a whole lot, but when I do I want to make sure I have all the tools I need on hand.  For years I had (and still have) a professional-grade large stand-alone mixer which is rated one of the best on the market, but I couldn't really appreciate it because it was too big and bulky for me to use a lot. One year I decided I wanted a hand mixer instead so I got myself the Black & Decker Power Pro 250 hand mixer.  Shortly after my purchase I tried it (made some cupcakes) and have been hooked ever since.  This little mixer has loads of power and comes with several different types of beaters for your different beating needs.  It has five speeds with a "power boost" mode (which you really don't need - it is quite powerful already). Also comes with a beater eject button, which makes it easy to clean (just eject them directly into the sink and wipe the mixer off). This little gem is fairly lightweight and very user friendly.  I think it beats just as well, if not better, than some of the big, pricier mixers.  Seems very durable too.  Best of all, it was very inexpensive! This is a great product and I would recommend it without hesitation.
