Many people use their kitchen appliances with an attitude that they are disposable and  when the appliance fails they are not surprised; they simply dispose of the lifeless hunk of metal or plastic and replace it with another short term appliance.  I ,however, buy thinking an appliance will be my tool, a necessary addition to my kitchen and as so I expect this tool to function well and last longer than 3 cakes worth of baking.  This innocent looking appliance seduced my husband with its beguiling array of attachments and the name black and decker-- a reputable company.  Sadly this was all...

Defective Black & Decker Mixer

We purchaced a Black & Decker Power Pro 250-Watt Mixer last fall locally and when we got it home and used it, we noticed that the slow speed selection was unusually high. We have used it in that condition until now when the mixer will not run unless it is set on the middle setting two up from the slow setting. Even though I had the original box that states it has a 1 year warranty, Black & Decker's customer service refused to help and were not concerned with customer service or their defective product. I have had good luck with Black & Decker products but after this treatment I will no longer purchase... review »

Every attachment has broken.

The mixer part of it is fine, but every single attachment part has broken/fallen apart.  The whisk attachment fell apart the very first time I used it.  And now today, only one year after buying it, the normal metal attachments have broken.  Now I have the mixer, but no attachment s to use it with.  And it appears no one sells them separately.  I guess this is the company's way of making more money....but I have to buy a whole new set.  Well...I won't be buying this one again.
