This is a very convenient and powerful piece of vacuum that is definitely affordable in comparison to other handheld vacuum cleaners. I was driven to purchase this product because I lose a very noticeable amount of hair every day. Perhaps it is a normal amount of hair, but the length of my hair is around 15", and having that lying around our white tiled floor is a bit disturbing! This vacuum picks up extremely long hair, not just pet hair! The vacuum does not clog easily and is extremely easy to clean; there is absolutely no need to touch or come close to the dust. You press the eject button and the head of the vacuum drops down. The dust accumulates at the filter holes and with light scraping from the corner of the vacuum head, takes the whole chunk of the dust off. There are no need to wash or wipe but can be easily done for those who want to. The only downsides to this vacuum is it has a wide, hard plastic, and angled opening. It is NOT effective for use on solely dusty surfaces because there is no brush. It is not effective for vacuuming the corners because it would not fit. You can also feel the vacuum becoming weak after a few minutes of constant use, which means it needs often recharging. Regardless, for the purpose of my needs (for vacuuming hair occasionally), it is perfect! Would recommend for pet (or human) hair use.

Our house is always stocked with one of these babies. The DustBuster is one of the most effective tools. When you don't feel like dragging out a vacuum cleaner, pull one off the shelf an you're ready for action. Very few messes or spills are more than this little machine can handle. Black and Decker makes a good product. We have always gotten a lot of use out of ours before they break. Wet/Dry Vacuums are particularly valuable with dogs, who like to make a mess. Common household dust is no match for a two second cleanup, and a variety of fluids (see exceptions below), can be absorbed more efficiently than with paper towels. Black and Decker DustBusters are powerful and versatile; light, and easy to use. A single switch controls the function, and the handle is comfortable. The filter is removed by twisting the main body; and easily cleaned with a hose, or under the tap. Keep one of these handy, and your vacuum cleaner will collect dust. Annoying pet hair is beyond the scope of practice for this DustBuster. Hair tends to get tangled inside the opening, and quickly clogs the filter. Larger chunks of "whatever" are not effectively removed from the floor. If you attempt to clean any kind of soda; or sugar laced beverage, prepare yourself for a rough filter cleaning. A DustBuster will get you nowhere if you're attempting to use it for stain removal. The Black and Decker DustBuster will save you a lot of time. More importantly, it will save you money. The life of your vacuum cleaner will double, due to the fact you won't be using it as often. If I was pretty enough to be on TV, I'd definitely endorse this product. Side Note: If you suffer from allergies, try a DustBuster before popping pills. Maneuverability There are very few spots a DustBuster cannot reach. Ease of Maintenance Like taking candy from a baby. Suction Performance Major spills and catastrophes will prove a little too much to handle with this product. It also lacks the ability to deal with hair. Versatility As stated above, only a few instances prove this DustBuster ineffective. Design Ergonomics are top notch, though it might benefit from a larger opening. Durability Black and Decker makes their DustBuster designs strong. Mine have taken a lot of abuse; including dropping, slamming; and submersion.

I should have purchased this years ago. It's the best little picker-upper. It cleans spills and picks up pet hair. Best of all, it doesn't need to be plugged in before use, so I'm more prone to picking up stuff right when I spot it, not waiting until I pull out my Dyson, unravel the cord and plug it in. Once I end up getting the vacuum out, I end up vacuuming more than I started out to do, so I spend extra time I needed to spend doing something else. Therefore, this item is a true time saver.
