I ordered this chain pole saw off of Amazon and I was concerned as to what I would get. Black and Decker really surprised me though, with a quality tool that is much heavier duty than I thought it would be. It's very easy to use. It extends fully to about 9' or it can be used at the 6' level. It says 14' on the box, but I believe they are including a person's average hight. I have 77 acres of trees that I have been pruning. I was getting tired of lugging around the noisy and smoky old chain saw that I have. It was so unsafe being up on a ladder too, plus it was hard to start and required fuel.... read full review »

    In case I never mentioned this Black and Decker makes innovative products. I ran across this item at Home Depot. I was in search of a safer way to prune trees off my fence. I was also tired of my wife running for the phone every time I fired up the chain saw to prune back the trees.

    Adjustable
    At full length this will probably reach 10' (comfortably) for a person 6' tall, but it has three  sections. The first is the control head, the second an extension and the third houses the cutting head. So it can be shortened by almost 3' if needed.

I am a 50 year old woman who purchased this saw a month ago. It is very easy to use. It's very quiet, so it doesn't disturb neighbors. It comes with an extension, which makes reaching very high up an easy thing to do. I have no problems handling the saw while reaching and cutting at the same time.

The only problem with it is that the battery doesn't stay charged very long. The first time I used it, it only ran about five minutes. After recharging about the sixth(?) time, it did cut a little longer than the first five times. I was going to return the saw because of the short cut time in the beginning,...
