Black & Decker CHV1400 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster Review

I have had several cordless Dust Busters over the past few years and they were either not powerful enough or the charge didn't last for more than five minutes or so.  With two young children and multiple pets, it was imperative that I found a durable and powerful Dust Buster that would last.  I found the Black & Decker CHV1400 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster at Target for $34.99.  I was skeptical of how well it would work because the price seemed so reasonable.  I was always taught, "You get what you pay for".  I found an exception to the rule! 

The Facts   

This sleek machine picks up dry debris using 14.4 volts of cleaning power.  It includes a 7.2 v rechargeable battery and has a unique filter cleaning wheel that allows you to clean the filter without getting your hands dirty, thus increasing the power by 30 percent every time it is refreshed.  And since dirt doesn't stick to the filter, it cleans better longer. 

My Experience

When I got this Dust Buster home and out of the box, I was impressed with the look of it.  There is a translucent bowl that is kind of cool because you can see it working.  This model comes with a squeegee and crevice tool that attaches directly underneath so that you have them with you wherever you are sucking up messes.  I noticed that the machine was a little bit heavy but worth it, if it was going to do the job I needed it to do.  The wall mountable charging base was surprisingly easy to install.  The Dust Buster slides in and out of the base with ease.  The best part of all is the suction power that this little monster has.  I am very impressed with the great job this does.  I don't have to quit after five or so minutes like my old ones so that it can recharge.  I use this Dust Buster for over fifteen minutes before the power starts to slow.  When I am done with the job, I simply pop off the bowl and dump it into the garbage.  Dog and cat hair would attach themselves to the filter on my previous Dust Busters just as they do on this one.  The difference is, this model doesn't even require me to touch the filter to pluck the hair off.  It has a cleaning wheel that does the job for me!

My Final Viewpoint

The Black & Decker CHV1400 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster is an excellent little machine that I use daily.  I couldn't ask for more power and durability out of a Dust Buster and for $34.99, it's an incredible deal.  I recommend this product and am giving it an enthusiastic 5 star rating.
