Black and Decker ST1000 9-inch 1.8 AMP  grass trimmer is not the best. I bought this product for my dad to work around the lawn and trim the grass. I read the reviwes before I bought it and I tried to make the correctpurchace but it seems like I did not focuss on the important few things. Although the price is cheap but also th eproduct. The equipment forst of all does not come with an electreic cords. So you wait for theproduct and once you get it you realise that it does not have cord so you have to go shope for elecric wires. The product is also has a plastic handles and it looks like a toy not for a heavy duty use. The machine is still sitting in my dads garage because I bought this product on line and I am not ready to go through the hassle of going to the post office to return it and I had not time to buy the electric connection. Next time I will get a cordless device and pay more attention the material which the machine is built of. I have no idea how the product cuts since I did not get it to work yet.

*I own a Black & Decker ST 1000 Grass Trimmer.I bought it for my husband and he loves it.Its great for use for around your house doing yard work.The Black &Decker  is a basic entry-level  electric trimmer to use around your loving home.Its used for light trimming yard work.We have used for heavy trimming and never had a problem with it.The Black & Decker comes with a warant and you can purchase other supplies that comes with it.I highly recommend it because anyone can use it ,very easy to handle,no gas needed.Simply plug it up and go to work.The price is very reasonable not to exspensive and money well spent.The black deker trimmer does a great job to my lawn and my neighbors even borrow it for their yard and planning on buying one because of the quailty of the product and the functions it perform.Your looking for top notch products Black & Decker is the one.My husband always brought their landscaping tools.*

the black & decker st1000 weed trimer is a waste of money the weeder doesn't spin fast enough to trim anything but grass and if the grass is too long or thick all it does is beat it to death and shreads it. You really have to have a lot of time on your hands to use this machine since you have to move so slow for it to give you a decient cut. bad bad bad

It's a small, light weight trimming/edging tool cuts in 9-inch at a time. It is controllable than the other larger trimmers.  Larger and more powerful trimmer may not suitable for many lawns.  My lawn is typical size so I don't really need one that is larger or more powerful.  Powerful motor one could resulted in shredding of a wood edging or other type of edging that separate the lawn. Almost all trimmers having nothing to catch the flying bits of lawn. Again powerful trimmer would spray all the bits around more.  One could use a sheet to catch it, but I usually trim first and mow the lawn afterward which help pick up most of it.  Anything remaing I use a leaf blower to gather and pick them up. You can trim lawn under protruding bushes or around rock and so on... is part of its features.The electric cord has a locking feature as well . You have to "bump" it againts the lawn to advance the cutting wire.  This is typical with almost all trimmers using wire for cutting.

The Black & Decker ST1000 is the best grass trimmer I have seen so far in my life.  It gets real close to the edges and makes the cuts nice and clean. It is easy to handle. For me that is a plus. We have three achers and that makes for a lot of areas to trim. We not only have to trim around the house but around the barns and fences also. The Black & Decker ST1000 does such a good job you would think a professional came in and did it for us. If someone were to tell me they would trade me two of any other brand I wanted for my Black & Decker ST1000 I would tell them not a chance. I wouldn't trade the Black & Decker St1000 for three of any other brand of grass trimmer out there it is that good. It may not be the least expensive but the Black & Decker St1000 is well worth the price. Any home owner or any one who does yard work would love to have a Black & Decker ST1000 of their own. It is that good.

I recently had the opportunity to try the **Black & Decker ST1000 Grass Trimmer. I refused at first because I really like my older grass trimmer.  I decided to use the ****Black & Decker ST1000 Grass Trimmer anyway. I have to confess I just fell in love with it. I had receivd this Black & Decker Grass Trimmer for a housewarming gift & I must say after receiving it I thought, wow what a gift??  Not until I had to mow my lawn did I finally get the satisfaction I thought I wasn't going to get from this product? Like I said, I must say that this is a great gift after I used it to trim my edges & especially the corners of my lawn. I've used lawn mowers to try to get the edges to look good & even a weed wacker, but they don't do any justice when it comes to this wonderful & easy cutting Grass Trimmer from Black & Decker! My lawn looks so beautiful from the perfection of my edges being so neat & clean, it makes my lawn look that much more & better! I didn't think I'd be happy with such a gift for a house warming present but boy was I wrong! I know with the economy the way it is today;  it's hard to spend our money on things we would like instead of what we really need. I am so grateful that I didn't have to buy such a great product and it was given as I now realize just how much & badly needed this helps my work so much easier.

it s really been a very good find since we purchased a black and decker grass trimer. It helps me reach the place that our mower cannot reach it help beautify my yard makes you feel better about your home and its surroundings and i can even edge with it on the walk ways around our home even my brick walk way.  it runs very good uses very little oil and not really to much gas either I chose the gas grass trimmer so i would get tangled in it cord and get hurt i think this black and decker is more safe to operate and easy for women to,start which is a good thing so when my husband says i will get to it and you get tried of waiting for him you can undertake the job yourself and makes him feel bad so maybe next time he will understand that you are not waiting on him to get things done around your home go women go it very light weight to carry around also I am glad that we could get to bad parts that might have been hiding snakes or etc now we can live without fear I
