I had this blender for almost 10 years! It lasted me a long time! It was very easy to use and it is modern looking but still not expensive or too advanced. It has a nice look to it too. Blending Power Pretty powerful blender. I used it a lot to make morning shakes which i always put ice and a lot of fruits and veggies and never had issues with blending it all at once. Ease of Use Its has all the buttons with options so its really simple to use. Just touch the button and it works. Design Very nice and modern looking blender. My kitchen is all stainless steal so this blender was perfect for me and matched everything nicely. Durability It lasted 10 years! The only reason I no longer am using it, is because i lost the top plastic that covers the blender. I did look into buying the accessory separately but it cost too much to just replace that, so i purchased a new one. If it was not for that, i would still be using this blender. It lasted a long time and still worked like new!

Pretty versatile and got a lot of use. Was really good for making sauces and pastes (pesto, tapenade, pesto, etc) but had trouble with frozen items and ice. After about a year or so of use the blade just stopped working and that was that. Blending Power Would blend soft items with no problem and could easy make them any consistency you were looking for. I used to make hummus in this and it would turn out so smooth and creamy. I would try to blend something frozen and it was hard to get a good consistency - after trying for about 10 minutes I would have most of it blended but would be left with chunks here and there. If you try to blend ice, forget about it. I couldn't get ice to blend in this thing to save my life. No margaritas for us. Versatility Used it for sauces, drinks, smoothies, pastes. Many uses for it and you can get a bit creative. Ease of Cleaning Most parts are dishwasher safe and the whole glass jar and blade come apart to clean it thoroughly. Design Thicker blends (pesto, hummus) would get stuck in the bottom and I would have to take the whole thing apart if I wanted to get it all out. A spatula helps too. Durability After about a years worth of use the blade just died. I took it apart, looked at it, tried to figure out how to fix it, but nothing. It simply just stopped spinning.

I am so surprised this blender does not get better reviews! I have had this guy for about 4 or 5 years now and it is still running strong. I love the sleek design of this blender, the stainless steel bottom section looks great left on my countertop. And I was so excited to find a blender with a glass carafe as the lightweight cheap plastic carafes drive me nuts. I love smoothies and use this daily in the summer to blend all kinds of frozen fruit and it gets through everything. I oftentimes have to stir as I blend if I make the smoothie too thick, but thats no problem at all. The motor and blades are still going strong after all these years, I think it was a great purchase and I feel that I got my money's worth even if it stopped working tomorrow! Blending Power Does a great job! sometimes needs help by stirring, but I do like my smoothies thick! Durability 5 years old, still going strong and unit still looks brand new.

I have owned this blender for 3 years now. Have to replace. This blender was great at first, then the blades started to become dull and would not blend as well as when first used all within a year of use. The part where the blades are unscrewed cracked in the first year of use and it leaks every time i use it so i don't. It just collects dust. I would have to buy from company and pay shipping to replace blade part. I bought this brand blender because i thought it was a great brand. My next one will not be a Black & Decker. Maybe i just got a dud. Blending Power Seems slow and does not blend as well as first bought. It has slowed down and takes forever to blend. Versatility Not really versatile can only blend and pour. Ice doesn't really crush like should because the blades are dull already. Takes for every to use. Ease of Cleaning Easy clean of the glass container. I hand wash. The blade is hard to unscrew to wash. The actual machine is different now. It is stainless steel and always looks like it is dirty because of finger prints. Ease of Use Use is easy if it worked like it should. All you have to do is add items and push a button. If the blades were not dull and the part they sit in wasn't cracked. And it did not leak on the machine itself i would use it all the time when cooking Design I wish the stainless steel didn't hold onto finger prints once clean. Love the glass container. Do not use the metal container at all. Never had a need for it. So it just sits in the cabinet. Durability I believe it could have been made better from this brand. After only a year of use the blades dulled and the part that holds the blades cracked. It leaks every time i use it so i do not use it. Have it on the counter collecting dust.

Although we don't use our blender excessively or even daily, this blender never fails to get the job done when we do use it. I love to use it for crushing ice as well as making milkshakes and smoothies. All of the options are great too. I would recommend this blender to anyone looking.

Its almost three years now that I bought this blender as I cook a lot and was in need of a good blender. It was cheap so it attracted me as I like other Black & Decker products too. Its solver the basic purpose of a blender however it is not great. I am planning to buy a food processor and will keep this for my basic use. The looks are good and it it not too heavy so its easy to handle and it doesn't consume a lot of space too. Its blade seems to be sharp enough but it doesn't works perfectly when it comes to crushing ice. Also, sometimes it takes a lot of effort and time to make a puree as I have to shake it a lot of times in between as the food doesn't get roll over properly. I think it has also to do with the shape of the jar. The jar is on the other hand very sturdy. I have dropped it a few times but its doesn't break easily. SO for people who doesn't cook much, this is perfect for them but not for people like me who spend a lot of time in the kitchen and try different cuisines.

I'm currently using the Black & Decker 5-speed Blender BL 1900 and I'm not terribly impressed with its performance. I admit that I did not really research blenders before purchasing this one and I'm sorry I didn't. I bought this one based on appearance, since it's nice and sleek and matches my other appliances. This blender is not very powerful. The foods get stuck on the bottom and don't blend easily. The blades are not all that sharp. Ice doesn't crush well and you have to keep stopping and stirring. It's just an inconvenient blender over all. I like a powerful one that helps you cut back on time, which this one just doesn't do. You have to run the blender for a long time to get the results you want and you have to keep stopping it.

My husband and I received this blender as a wedding gift. It sat in our basement for quite some time before I finally grabbed it one day and started usingit. I wish I would have tried it out much sooner because I love it. I'd been using a smaller hand held blender orthe bullet for my mixing needs which didn't always cut it. While making my own baby food I found that many of the smaller blenders didn't chop through many of the items I needed them to. I was making carrots formy son one day as a homemade baby food and when my bullet stopped I switched over to this blender and haven't looked back. It makes great food. Five different settings means you have lots of options on how to "blend" your food. I even love that the canister has a lid opening. Itmakes adding water to my bbay food mixes very easy.

This blender works pretty darn well. My husband has used it to make salsa several times. I have also used it to make smoothies with lots of frozen fruit, yogurt and milk and it works excellently. You have to give it time, or make sure you have enough liquid in it to get eerythign processed down to the blades. But once you've mastered that, you'll have an awesomely blended product. I would get carried away adding things to the smoothie and practically fill the whole blender. Only negative thing is the plastic film over the buttons kind of wears away a little. It's also a little inconvenient to clean all the pieces. The blades have a rubber washer between them and the pitcher and you have to be careful to wash it all. Good to put the pitcher in the dishwasher!

Bought this for my husband to use -- he makes smoothies every morning. Didn't need a blender that had a lot of options. Did need a blender that could crush ice. The first time we used it, it wasn't so successful as the ice ended up in big chips. But we tried it again, and it came out perfect. The blender is a good weight, glass and feels substantial. It's a good looking machine and fits in well on the counter top with my other stainless steel kitchen appliances. The price was an added plus. I've come to know Black & Decker as the hidden gem in kitchen small appliances Products are efficient, price is reasonable, and the products are very presentable to fit right in! Smoothies every morning makes my day!
