Really great!

I bought the Black & Decker 19-inch Lawnhog Electric Mower used off of Craigslist. It was already a few years old, but it worked perfectly. I had to buy my own power cord, as the original owner had lost the one it came with, but it was easy to look up online what kind of cord it needed. This was an extremely easy lawn mower to use. I have even used it with a newborn in a sling in front of me, fast asleep, and did not have any problems at all, safety or otherwise. It was extremely easy to push, even in slightly wet grass. It worked well in the backyard, even when weeds were over a foot tall before we were able to put grass in. The only concern I had was that I might accidentally run over the power cord and cut it. I never had any problems with power, which I was concerned about since before this I had always used lawn mower that ran on gas. I actually prefer this lawn mower to other gas ones that I have used. I really like that I do not have to worry about running out of gas.

Black and Decker Electric Lawn Mower

The Black and Decker Electric Lawn Mower is a great tool to have if you have a small yard. Our yard is about 1/4 of an acre, and my husband can easily finish mowing the yard on one battery charge. The lawn mower is very quiet...maybe sounds like a vacuum cleaner instead of the usual loud noises of a lawn mower. This is nice when you live in a neighborhood since the neighbors won't mind when you do your yard work. The lawn mower is easy to use and not difficult to push. We love having an Electric Lawn Mower. We did the math on how much it will cost in extra electricity to charge the battery vs. the cost of gas for a traditional lawn mower; and the savings were drastic. It might be more of an expense to begin with, but after barely one season of mowing yards so far, we have probably recouped our money back just on savings from not having to purchase gas. While this isn't for everyone, our family is very pleased with our purchase.

Brought lmover in 2007 The mover's- fully charged battery does not last to cut less than 1/4 acre.  I had problems wtih mower a year late  I took it to get fixed an it was cheaper to purchase a new  mower.  When I tried  contact Black and Decker I was told that I it was not underwarrranty.  I took it to a lmower business and was told it would cost125.00 to get fixed. I left the mower at that compant and decided to purchase a different brand.  I was very disappointed about the product.and will not purchase a Black and Decker mower.

kinda like vacuuming outside =P

My husband got one of these for our new house. He wanted something that didn't invovle gas and that felt sturdy without being too heavy to push. Overall, it's a good mower. it has a nice height adjustment for the grass which can give you as close as a cut you need, or higher for multching. If the grass is just a bit wet (say morning dew) it does clog easily. Not too big of a deal I guess, but a time consumer. It's easy to push and give a good cut, but flinging around the cord to get it out of your way is a little annoying. Atfirst I related it to vacumming outside because thats what it feels like having to move the power cord around. Just make sure you DO MOVE IT out of the way so you don't have an accident.

An excellent mower for homeowners with small yards.

We live in a towhouse, so this lawnmower works well for the size yard we have.  For years I used to use a small, manual mower.  When I say manual, I mean, the push mower with the rotating wheel-blades.  It was awful.  It would smoosh grass and weeds to the ground instead of cutting them, and they would spring right back up again shortly after "mowing" my lawn.  I resorted to borrowing my neighbors mowers, which was not always convenient. We purchased the Black & Decker LawnHog mower a year ago, and it has been great.  It is easy to start (pull a handle and it cranks right up), but not so easy a child could do it (a concern for us).  It cuts the grass well even when I let it go a while and it gets high.  And it is SO easy to adjust the height of the mower.  A little squeeze on the height-adjustment gadget and the mower smoothly slides up or down to the custom height that you want. The only concern I have is keeping the cord out of the way.  You can get a cordless version of this mower, but it wasn't worth the premium to me. All in all an excellent mower for homeowners with small yards.

Black and Decker Electric and Easy to Start

5

I bought this to replace an older electric mower that conked out.  I really like the convenient plug in and use capability.  I don't have to deal with getting gas, or trying in vain to pull a string to turn it on. No gas fumes.   It turns on and off easily, so you can easily talk to your neighbors and quickly get back to mowing.   It works just like a vacuum cleaner as you move it around the yard to cut it.  It is quiet. I bought the one that you can turn the handle to reverse it, but I rarely take the time to turn the handle.  It mowes forwards and backwards.   The only drawback to an electric mower as compared to the gas is that you have to watch out for the cord.  This is easy to do  if you follow the suggestions on the paper about driving away from the cord instead of towards it.  And the cord sometimes gets tangled.

The Lawn hog takes the work out of starting your mower!!!

After personally killing several gas engine yard tools, I sought after a functional electric lawn mower.  I chose the Black & Decker Lawn Hog primarily for its low price in comparison to the competitors and was pleasantly surprised with how easy it is to use.  The Lawn Hog is relatively light in weight, and easy to push.  An extension cord is definately a must.  At first trying to mow around all of the trees in our yard with a corded mower was a challenge, however it wasn't long and I had adapted a path that required minimal backtracking.  I am glad to trade a little backtracking for the, repeated shoulder-straining, cord pulling required to start most gas mowers.  One of my favortie features of the Lawn Hog is the one handed cutting deck height adjustment.  A gentle squeeze of one handle and you can change the height of the entire cutting deck.  If you are tired of fighting and maintaining your gas mower, give the Blcak & Decker Lawn Hog a try, I think you will be happy you did.

The B&D Lawnmover is perfect!

This lawn mower is so amazing that I really can't praise it enough. For one, it is fairly cheap for what it's worth. It works wonders, trust me, and is more than worth the price! It is generally small in size and incredibly easy to operate and work. It is pretty lightweight and does not require gas -- which is a mega, mega plus! It being electric makes it so much easier to work and operate, and just for that, I love it so much. And along with all this, it really does work out in the lawn. It is fairly easy to trim/cut the grass and all, so that's definiately good. If you're ever in need of a lawn mower, this comes with my highest recommendations. It is **definitely well worth the price**, as it works so well and is fairly lightweight and easy to operate. Do yourself a favor and buy this!!

Easy to use for the non-professional

I was a city girl with no experience tending to property.  I moved into the suburbs of Jersey 2 years ago and vowed to do as much maintenace as I could myself, and not pay hand over fist for professionals.  I never mowed a lawn in my life before I received my Black & Decker MM875.  It was very easy to operate.  I love that I don't have to worry about gas cans and all the tech that comes with a gas mower. Granted, I only have a 70 x 100' lot and have plenty of outlets around my property.  Keep that in consideration before making the purchase for yourself!  I also found it very easy to operate: light weight, easy to start and stop, and I love the option of bagging or mulching.  Leaving the mulch on the grass has given my lawn an extra edge as far as fertilizing. The first couple of mows in the spring I bag to prevent weed seeds and fungus from re-infesting.  I never imagined that I'd be able to take care of my own lawn and know so much about it, but this mower has helped make that possible!

Electric is the Way to Go

The Black and Decker electric lawn mower is a great alternative to the hassle of a gas powered motor for those whose lawns are small enough to be reached by a 100' extension cord (which is the majority of people).  The Black and Decker lawn mower starts everytime simply by pulling the handle up.  You can start and stop it as many times as you need to pick up things off the lawn or empty the bag without worry.  This model is both a mulcher and a traditional bagging lawn mower which is definitely needed.  Simply put the plug in the grass chute to turn it into a mulching lawn mower and remove it and add the bag to turn it into a bagging lawn mower.  Very simple.  Sometimes it's been awhile since you last mowed and the grass is too long to mulch effectively so I switched back and forth quite often.  Traditional bag that attaches at the top of the mower with two hooks so it is easy to get on and off.   Very reliable, never runs out of gas, much less hassle, and clean running electric to help save the environment.
