I bought the Black & Decker electric mower for touch ups. One section of the back yard near the door where everyone comes in grows faster and lusher. Seemed a shame to break out the riding mower for a little section. I had a heck of a time pulling the cords on gas push mowers and also blew my last one...

My older Craftsman push mower (gas) was on the fritz, so I thought I would move over to electric. Bad choice. My yard is relatively large and has some sloping areas, so I thought electric would be light and easier to work with. But, it also has thick grass and some areas of weeds. And while the electric... read full review »

I can say nothing bad about this lawn mower, other than make sure you don't run over your electrical cord. LOL This is a no fuss mower. It is light enough to easily get in the trunk to take it in for blade sharpening. Just plug it in and you are ready to mow. It does a great job with mulching, too! After years and years of gasoline mowers - and all the hassels associated with them (heavy, having to store and add gasoline, change the spark plug, etc), I am so glad to own this mower.

I studied up on lots of electric mowers and settled with the Black and Decker cordless. It's relatively light weight and easy to use.  The handle is at a great angle which makes pushing it up hill a breeze.  It's really quiet so there's minimal noise polution to boot!

My major complaint is the length of its charge.  My yard isn't big (but isn't particularly small), and if I leave the mower charging over night, it will stay charged for the whole yard.  If I plug it in the morning and mow in the afternoon, it dies before I can finish.  Also, the key gets VERY hot so you risk burning yourself...

I bought this mower several years ago for my new home, we have a very small yard.  Luckily having a townhome gives you very little yard to take care of, while still providing some space for pets.  This mower works well, is quiet, easy to push but could be easier in overall maneuvering while working in small confined areas.  But I agree that not many mowers are geared toward such small yards, unless you go the "manual push style" which is too much for people with mobility & health problems.

Overall, a very good item.

I have the cordless electric mulching mower and can say that it works very well. Our yard is normal suburban size tract and takes approximately 45 minutes to mow. I can always mow on a full charge, but need to make sure I keep the grass at a manageable height or else the mower requires additional power. I leave it plugged in the garage and mow - works as expected.

If you want to get grass cut get a riding lawn mower. but go with this if you like the exercise. If you have moles do not buy this it will get stuck in every mole hole you have. Also it takes A while to mow the lawn. It is the lightestweight mower i have ever used.

I thought the Black and Decker Cordless Elerdlctrical lawn mower would be the solution to all my mowing problems.  No polution, no buying high priced gasoline, no jerking on a cord to start, which I have no strength in my hands from Arthritis, no dragging cord, and no oil to check.  It was alittle bit more expensive than the gas mowers, but it would be worth it for the convenience and it's green characteristics.  It worked fine for about four mowings.  Then, it either wouldn't charge or it wouldn't stay charged.  I don't know which.  I am not supposed to know those things, because I am electronically... read full review »

When I bought my first house, I needed a lawn mower but didn't want to deal with gas and oil for a standard mower.  I saw other electric mowers, but I didn't want one that had to be plugged in; it seemed too dangerous to have a cord attached.

I found the Black & Decker cordless electric mower at Home Depot.  it has been such a great purchase!  it's so easy- I just plug it in to charge up the battery, and there's an indicator on the mower, so while I'm using it I can see how much of the battery life is left.

The handle folds down, so it doesn't take up much storage space in the garage.  And...

I have had this mower for over a year now and I was been very satisfied. I have a small to mid-size lawn to mow and have had no problems whatsoever. It is corded, which does make it more of a challenge to mow than a standard gas mower. I do worry about running over the cord and it does get in the way sometime However, with a little planning, it is not that much harder. It is worth it for no gas to worry about and it is as simple as find a long extend cord (I use a 100 foot cord, but 75 would be better) and go on my way. My lawn has fared well and the mulching is good for the lawn.  Compared to...

Black & Decker 18" electric mulching mower - best thing I ever bought.  It is a power horse.  Does everything I ask it to do & then some.  I bought this lawn mower in June 2008 because I didn't want to have to try to start a gas mower as I am an "older" woman.  I bought a 100' outdoor extension cord to use with it.  I have had it a month & have mowed all over my yard, including the 1/2 acre I have for my horse.  Even mowed in some high grass.  The mulching part is wonderful.  I would give this machine 5 stars.  I do plan on getting a riding mower for the larger areas just because it is... read full review »

i just love my craftsman electric lawnmower.

it is lightweight and there is practically no maintainance with this mower.

it cuts well and is ready at any time.

there are no fumes or odors in my garage. there are no oily stains on my garage floor.

the pattern that is given in the manual shows precisely how to cut your grass  to avoid running over the extension cord and is excellent if you follow it.

the engine is cut immediately once you let go of the handle. excellent safety feature.

I have a Black & Decker Electric lawn mower and I live in a garden home. It is all I need for my small yard. It does bog down in deep grass so I try to cut at least every two weeks. My yard looks better than it did when I paid someone to cut it with commercial mowers. I can at least adjust the height and mulch the grass which makes the yard look more lush. It is inexpensive and works good for the money

The Black and Decker Mulching Mower jhas just enough power to get the average lown job done. It requires no maintance, no fuel storage, no tuneups, no planning to get it running and mowing. The perfect machine for the small lawn owner. The most elegant solution for those who do not want more mower than they need.

This is a ok mower save money on gas with gas being so high, but it does use electric It is hard to use on a big yard and you have to have electric for it. I would use it again and tell someone with a small yard it would be good for them. But with this go green movement it may be better to use a push mower.
