Starting it is easy: there is a "plug" where you plug in the charger - unplug the charger and plug in a small dongle, push a button and pull on the safety bar and it starts right up. I'd suggest attaching the dongle to the mower so you don't lose it. Height adjustment is also really easy: one hand, one wheel, and you're done. I've had no issues with the charge running out. I don't have a large yard so I don't expect this to be an issue.

This is Battery Operated. It does not need a cord. It does not make any smoke or any smells. It is quieter than gas mower too. The battery has been replaced once in the past 8 years and I did that myself ordered the battery online. Plugs into a standard outlet when not in use to recharge the battery. Best used on the high level grass setting which has kept watering our lawn to a minimum. The lawn stays moist then the grass is higher. If the grass gets thick it might run down the battery so sometimes we do one section of grass one day and the rest the next day after the mower has recharged overnight. If you have a very big lawn the battery might drain before you are finished with your lawn but it recharges right up overnight.
