I bought this drill to use at my workplace as I'm an operations manager responsible for repairs among other things. I had to hang a lock box on the wall and this drill came in handy. It charged within 1 hour out of the box and the directions were clear and easy to follow. I successfully screwed 4 screws into the wall with ease. There were also loose boards that needed tightening and this worked just fine getting through hard pine. As a female user this Black & Decker drill was worth every penny for my needs.

Black & Decker is a trusted name in hardware appliances, and rightly so. True to form, this is a reliable medium sized drill, capable to handling jobs around the house, in my case drilling holes in walls in order to hang shelves. Plugging in the device to charge it initially resulted in several weeks of occasional use before I had to recharge it again. This is a good sized drill and not too heavy, though for more heavy-duty jobs you would of course need a higher voltage model. A good every-day drill.

This Black & Decker cordless drill is great for small projects around the shop or home. It has good battery life and charges fairly quick. I would not recommend this drill for a contractor doing heavy duty work. I would recommend this to the person who needs a drill to do DIY at home projects or light duty work. Overall great drill for the price.

I purchased this cordless drill a while back for small hom improvement projects and artwork.  I used the drill mostly for drilling through various types of wood.  I also use the screw driver function, but not as often.  What a disappointment.  Just after the return policy expired, the drill started to lose its charge and power slightly more and more every time I used it.  Now, after a few years of owning it, I have to literally charge the battery after drilling a few holes through wood.  Sometimes the drill will actually die in the middle of drilling a hole through a two-inch piece of wood.  It's very annoying to work with.  If I keep it charged overnight I can maybe get a full 30 minutes of drill time out of it but not always.  Another aspect of owning this drill that is extremely disappointing is that when you do want to charge it overnight or for a few hours before a major project, the plug heats up to a point where I wonder if it's actually a fire hazard. I definately would not recommend this product to others. Save your money and dignity.

If you're a contracter and you need a drill everyday for heavy duty tasks... please do not get this. That's comparable to someone who needs super fast internet  for their job and only paying for a dial up connection. If, However, you know that you only need to do a few simple tasks around the house or putting together furniture like curtains, tables, chairs, and the like then this drill is perfect for your needs. i was able to purchase this drill at a very inexpensive price and love it for what it does. whenever i need to assemble a cabinet or just tighten a screw somewhere i reach for this because it's lightweight and powerful enough to get non heavy duty tasks done. i use my drill probably once every few weeks and it's still as good as when i first purchased it. if you just purchase the drill it self it should be very cheap. i got mine in a packaged deal that came with a case, 30 different driver heads, drill bits, wrench, and a measuring tape. great deal for decent quality.

We needed a cordless drill that was light and tough enough for everyday projects. we shopped around a lot before we decided to get the back and decker 12 volt cordless compact drill. we own a few items made by black and decker that I am happy with so going with this brand again was easy. It is a great compact cordless. it is perfect for everyday jobs. we resently put up our daughter's bed and replaced a few locks all in one day without having to charge inbetween. the charge lasts a really long time and the unit doesn't get hot when plugged in or when in use. this drill isn't very heavy so it's good for longer jobs because it won't hurt your hands. 12 volt is good enough for us cause we don't intend to use it very often for really crazy big jobs. its perfect for those who would use it for everyday home use. the price was really good and the overall look and feel of it is very comfortable.

This Black and Decker drill is a great buy if you are looking for a simple tool to have for around the house and small outdoor projects.  I have had this drill for just over five years now and I have not yet been disappointed with it.  I have been able to tackle some small outdoor projects with this little drill and been able to dozens of indoor projects.  It is a great value for the price and has a good warranty to cover it for the first two years I believe.  I had a problem where the chuck seized up and the warranty was had just expired by like 30 days or something.  I contacted the company and they fixed it for free and it has been working like a champ ever since.  I like that it has different clutch settings so you can set the level of torch that you want.  This is probably one of my most used tools and is by far because it is so portable.  The battery life is good if you are doing light duty projects.  Once you start doing medium duty projects with a lot of driving screws and stuff it drains the battery pretty quick.  Over all I would recommend this drill to a first time drill buyer or anyone who was looking for a handy drill to have.

My husband and I are not the best at home imporovements but we needed a drill so we bought the Black and Decker Cordless Drill 12v.  The best thing about this drill is that it is easy to use, niether one of us really do big projects so it is perfect for us.  I love that it is cordless because you don't have find a plug and you can take it anywhere.  It probably isn't the strongest drill but it is perfect for us!

The 12v cordless Black and Decker drill is the ideal choice for the all around home-handyman requiring moderate use. Since it is 12v, it is lightweight and well suited for light work, but not extended heavy duty applications. Power is as it can be expected from a 12v cordless drill. Depending on use, the batteries last approximately 1/2 hour each, while batteries are fully charged after one hour each. This drill is quite affordable, comes with two batteries, charger and case with warranty which the average handyman will be unlikly to use. I have used this drill for various projects for the last three years without any problems (gardenshed, fence, drywall etc). This unit is not suited for extended commercial applications as it is not a heavy duty design and the 12v powerpack will be insufficient for more heavy duty projects.   If you are looking for an affordable cordless drill for occasional use with light to medium power requirements, I can recommend the 12v Black and Decker cordless drill.

I'm quite happy with this drill; it lasts quite awhile between charges. The last oddbrand drill I had lasted a shorter and shorter time between charging; before quitting completely at about 6 months old. The B&D is 2 years old and still works as it did when new.
