Good standard coffee maker
I have used this Black and Decker coffee maker for about 14 months now. It is decent in the world of basic programmable coffee makers. The carafe is easy to fill and the reservoir can be filled without spilling much, if any, water. It is also easy to clean and keep clean. The basket that holds the coffee is easy to access and fill without making a mess. The programmable feature is decent. It is a pain to click the buttons so many times in order to set the clock and program the scheduled start time but I have found that to be the case for just about every inexpensive programmable coffee maker I have ever used. I groan every single time the power flickers off and I have to reset the clock and timer. My only word of caution - if you have hard water, you will have to run a vinegar cycle frequently (at least once a month, if not more) to prevent mineral build-up that slows the coffee making process considerably. I use filtered water and I still have a difficult time keeping this clean. Otherwise the output will end up being far less than the water you put it - the coffee maker will struggle so much that you end up with a lot of steam and not much else (and the gurgling noise will drive you crazy).
