Great food processor, and easy to clean

5

This is a great, basic food processor. It was very easy to assemble out of the box. The only thing that tripped me up was ensuring that the handle was locked in order to get it to turn on! I have only used the chopping blade so far, and it was worked great for making bread or graham cracker crumbs, salsa, and baby food. It is also very easy to clean. I threw mine in the top rack of my dishwasher and it couldn't have been easier. I also plan to make some hummus and expect the same results. The only complaint I have about the appliance is that it is large, and sometimes hard to store given that it is not used as frequently as some of my other appliances. Power Power seems good for this appliance. Maybe a little loud. Safety Safety handle lock to power on is a nice feature. Only downside is it seems to shake more than expected when turned on. Ease of Assembly Couldn't be easier to put together out of the box. Ease of Cleaning Very easy to clean in a dishwasher. Durability Seems very durable. I have dropped the canister several times and have not had it crack yet.

Fairly cheap food processor considering how pricey that they can be, but you really do get what you pay for. It works good for what i need it to, but I don't feel like the blades are as sharp as they need to be to be considered a true food processor, and also when I do make things into liquid it always seeps out the sides, making a big huge mess. I would much rather a more expensive one, but I simply cannot afford it, so I can make this one work.

A good processor to fit your needs.

This food processor has been great for slicing vegetables super thin and uniform, mashing potatoes, and even shredding bars of soap for homemade laundry detergent! However, the problems with this model are that 1. The contents sometimes get jammed underneath the feeding tube and turn to mush. 2. If you overfill it with thin liquids it will leak out of any of the seams. 3. It took me months to figure out why it wouldn't snap into place easily with the top feeder locked in - it's not designed to do that. The feeder is what holds it down, AFTER you slide it into the locked position. I almost broke my machine trying to get it to snap into place several times - but I probably should have read the directions a little better!

I received this food processor about a year ago from my mother as a housewarming gift. I use it primarily to make salsa, mince vegetables, and slice vegetables. It works great as a mincer/fine chopper, since the blades are large and very sharp, however, when it comes to getting a medium dice, it's not really possible unless you put in very small amounts of food. When chopping soft vegetables, they tend to bunch up in the middle of the blade, causing uneven chopping, and forcing you to puree whatever you are trying to chop. I can also say, it makes an excellent slicer for vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, onions, etc. I like to make a lot of finger foods and really enjoy being able to have symmetrical slices every time.

Black and Decker Food Processor ~ quality at a great price

My mother-in-law bought this for me last year for making home-made baby food.  I had no idea it would be so easy to use.  My food processor came with 3 blades; a dough blade, a slicing (reversible for shredding) blade and a chopping blade.  Safety lid prevents operation unless the lid is fully engaged.  Great for shredding and mixing.  I also made homemade laundry detergent in this baby.  Very handy to have around the kitchen.  I actually use it more often than I thought I would (since I originally only wanted one to make baby food).   This particular food processor is made of quality materials and I don't have to worry about anything breaking due to poor or cheap materials.  I do however have to make sure and keep track of the blades as there is no way to store all the attachments inside the unit.  I designate one location in a drawer for them. The only problem I've had with this unit is when shredding something the last bit gets sucked in on top of the blade due to the high velocity and that last bit gets stuck inside the lid and doesn't get shredded.  I generally have about a half ounce of cheese stuck inside the lid that I have to scrape out.  Small bits cannot be reshredded.   Easy cleanup with a bottle brush.

I got this food processor to replace a broken combo blender/food processor unit that I owned.  This one has a nice large capacity and is able to easily handle all of my tasks.  Since owning it, I have used a food processor more than I previously had because the hassle of assembling, using, and cleaning this unit is worth it for the time it saves me in prep. I like that I can throw it in the dishwasher, but it takes up so much room that I often end up washing it by hand.  The cutting disc is sharp (obviously) and has gotten a chunk of my finger more than once when cleaning so I now put at least that part in the dishwasher. When using it to grate cheddar cheese, I find that some amount of cheese gets stuck in the top part and has a mushy texture that is neither firm nor grated.  The taste probably is fine, but it looks so unappealing that often that portion goes to waste.  It can be hard to get it all out of the groove by the food chute too.  This might not be a problem unique to this food processor, just the one thing that annoys me about it. All in all, good food processor that does what needs to get done at a fair price.

I've wanted a food processor for years and received this one as a Christmas gift. I couldn't be happier. The only drawback is its ease of assembly on its base. It took some practice, but I can say that I am now comfortable with it. I use it primarily for making pie pastry, other small doughs, for chopping vegetables, and for blending soups. Chopping onions no longer makes me cry! I love to be able to finely dice other vegetables (eg: carrots and celery) to add to recipes. The slicer/shredder disk works well, however, a few small pieces of food being prepared do get trapped on top. I have seen larger chutes on other models, but from a safety standpoint, I prefer the more standard, narrower one on this model. The motor is strong enough to handle any job I have called upon it to do. The pressure pad control panel has on, off, and pulse buttons. The brushed stainless body cleans easily and the removable parts are all top-rack dishwasher safe.
